Description

Nature enthusiasts welcome. We offer a large campsite complete with dock on a private nature reserve. Stay in a converted/restored century tourist cabin/hunt camp on the edge of Provincially Significant Wetlands & Woodlands and overlook 5 pristine acres of wetlands off the Pigeon River in the heart of the Kawarthas. All this is set on a 55 acre organic farm. We have a 10 kw solar panel, native plant nursery as well as heritage breed cattle, turkeys and chickens. The space The cabin is 1hr 15min north east of Toronto. Twenty min west of Peterborough. It's style reflects a rustic cabin and provides a peaceful off grid experience. The 12'x22' cabin has large windows, chairs, loft bedding and/or high quality mattress bed, and wood cookstove. The porch is 20’ and has a panoramic view of the property. There is a newish, clean outhouse located adjacent to the cabin. There is no running water but we supply potable water, a camp stove and small ice box. All you need is to bring is food, ice, sleeping bags and appropriate clothing for the season. Guest access The cabin is located at the furthest most private part of the farm. Access by vehicle is usually not an issue however heavy rains or seasonal thaw arrangements must be made with us to shuttle you back if the road is not travel worthy due to mud or access snow. UTV, snow shoe, skis or snowmobile may be required. Since we are in the heart of the Kawarthas you will have access to numerous trails, lakes, rivers, fishing hot spots and boat launches. A guided tour of our organic farm and native plant nursery will be our pleasure. Of course meeting and feeding the farm animals is a must! Other things to note Farm grown organic products for purchase. Rental use of a wood heated sauna. Inquire about rental fees.
