Loft in Whitmer

Have you ever stayed the night in a real country store? Country stores in the past used to store stock and inventory in the upstairs loft or attic above the store. This area was generally called the "Box Room." This is your opportunity to stay in a comfortable and cozy box room above a quaint country store. The space Here at the country store we take pride in creating a clean and welcoming environment for our guests. Our family will put every effort to make your stay here at the country store relaxing and we will go out of our way to ensure you have a memorable stay in the good ol' West Virginia mountains. Guests will be staying in the the loft located above the store with your own private access. The master bedroom is small and cozy. The room is constructed of natural pine wood with oak hardwood floors. There is a bathroom with a shower. And finally, the loft has a small living area that could be used for additional guests. You can rest assured you will sleep peacefully to the sound of Gandy Creek, the smell of mountain air, and wake up to the aroma of fresh coffee. Our coffee is not only good to the last drop, “it's good PAST the last drop." Guest access The store is seasonal. Store is closed November 1st- May 15 Guest access is limited to only the loft (box room) area. Fishing available right at your finger tips, or you can enjoy a late evening around the camp fire down by the creek and soak up the sounds of nature. Enjoy the sounds of music at the store and listen to all the tall tales of the locals. The store has a few guitars, a violin, and microphones if you feel like belting out a tune or two. Other things to note The store is seasonal and in operation mid May to the end of October. If the weather conditions are not good or windy, we make the decision not to allow the fire pit to be used.
