Perfect choice for Alfred Univ./A. State visitors!

PET POLICY: see details under “The space”) Nestled on 3 acres of woods, our house is quiet, spacious, cozy, private. Convenience is an understatement. "Downtown" Alfred, Alfred State & Alfred University are within easy walking distance. Finger Lakes wine region is 40 minutes away, Letchworth State Park (the “Grand Canyon of the East”) is about an hour, Watkins Glen is 2 hours. The space [IMPORTANT NOTE: Airbnb only allows a description to be either “Entire House” or “Private Room”; it does not allow for our situation where guests have the entire 1st floor of the House; we are on the second level. With that in mind, please note that we have an OPEN STAIRWELL THAT ACCESS BOTH AREAS. It is visually blocked off with a shoji screen but some sound can carry up and/or down. We respect your privacy and you are by yourselves so only come to your area in the early morning to drop off breakfast goodies and later in the day to clean after you leave for day’s activities. You also are very welcome to join us upstairs to chat, have coffee, etc. if you wish. Most importantly, we want you to feel at home. PET POLICY: PETS are allowed conditionally and with ADVANCE APPROVAL only, please. Rather than automatic booking, please submit your request 1st. Pets/dogs must be house-broken, non-chewers, quiet and are not to be left behind if you leave the house. Please pick up after them if they make “deposits” in the yard. [CLEANLINESS: As past reviews show, we receive "5 stars" for cleanliness. Due to what we all learned post COVID pandemic, we expanded our efforts beyond regular cleaning. All surfaces/objects that can be touched are wiped down with safe disinfectants, especially in the Breakfast Nook area. Following guest departures, we run air cleaners located in each bedroom . Be assured that all linens/towels are absolutely clean. We both have been vaccinated, boostered, had our flu shots and take great care to stay healthy. __________________________________________________________ There is NO KITCHEN but we do have a “Breakfast Nook” available for our guests with a small size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, hot water pot, coffee maker. All surfaces and small appliances are wiped with disinfectant prior to guest arrivals. For the morning, we are happy to offer fresh fruits, homemade banana bread, granola, yogurt, etc. along with freshly ground high quality coffee, tea and juice. We have books, children's toys, games and puzzles galore. For TV watchers, you have Netflix and other options (remote devices also are cleaned with disinfectant). You are welcome to sign in to your own streaming accounts if you wish to use apps that we don’t have. If there is anything you need, please don’t be shy, don’t hesitate to ask. We will do our very best to make your stay 100% enjoyable. Guest access Upon request and with prior approval, a washer and dryer might be made available for longer stays. Other things to note We have 3 bedrooms available for guests. The larger has a queen size bed, the 2nd has a double (big enough for 2) and a twin. There is enough sleeping/bed space for 5. There is an additional $15/night charge per guest per night if more than 2. Our children are no longer at home but many of their toys remain along with puzzles, games and many volumes of books appealing to all ages. All are available to our guests.
