Conveniently located between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid - comes see why so many of our guests return each year! Our Summer only cabins are open June - October each year. Please look for your favorite of our 10 cabins, search under "Moreno's" for details and reviews. We offer Cabin 10 all year, on Airbnb. We offer discounted rates at 4+ nights and weekly. Cabin #5 has queen memory foam mattresses on Hickory log beds, a small living room, dining area and kitchen. Both bathroom have stand up showers. There is a screened in sitting porch off the rear bedroom. The decor is mountain rustic and woodsy, with tasteful drapery, log beds, high quality bed covers, and Oxford Egyptian cotton sheets. Cabins are cooled with wall or window A/C units, and offer a gas wall heater for chilly nights or fall days. We are a family business that takes pride in our property. We keep our cabins CLEAN and well maintained. We are only 5 minutes in either direction from Lake Placid and Saranac lake. We are right off highway 86 for your convenience, but our property is quiet and peaceful. We have free Wifi spread throughout the property and cable TV. Our guests say the speed and signal strength are very good no matter where you stay. Each cabin has a BBQ grill , Adirondack chairs, picnic table, and fire pit for its own use. The grounds are spacious, treed and offer horseshoe pits and firewood available for purchase. Parking is plentiful and free. There is a gas station within walking distance that carries groceries, sandwiches, beer, ice , etc. The Ray Brook Brewing Co. and Tail O' the Pup outdoor BBQ restaurant are just steps away on foot. We or our helpful staff are available if you need us. While we are often on the property keeping things up or preparing for other guests, we will not be obtrusive or bothersome. We are in the heart of it all ! Just a few hundred feet from the NEW Adirondack Rail Trail, a converted multi-use railroad bed used year round, including biking, walking, running, roller blade, XC skiing and snowmobiling. Ray Brook Brewing Co and the Tail O' the Pup outdoor BBQ destination location (open summer only) are both in walking distance. Downtown Lake Placid and Saranac Lake both offer many shops, restaurants, pubs and attractions. The Olympic Venues are a must see for any first time visitors. Ski Jumps, Whiteface Mountain highway and chairlifts and the Bobsled run. Hiking, apline and nordic skiing, canoe / kayak and outdoor activities are abundant. We have climbed a few mountains ourselves and can offer some advice if you desire. The Scarface mountain trailhead is literally out the back of our property, just past cabin 10. We are also able to offer boat rentals through our sister property at Ampersand Bay Resort marina - just ask and we can help! There are taxi services available and bus service that can take you anywhere from Montreal to New York City. Moreno's Cottages celebrates 100 years! Moreno's was founded by Tessie and Tony Moreno, in 1923. Tony built this property by hand over the years and Aunt Tessie ran the place like a drill Sargent. The Drake Family is proud to continue this legacy offering rustic , traditional Adirondack cabins and a family friendly atmosphere. Together with our 4 children, we are constantly updating and remodeling to make our guests' stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. We welcome you to visit us year round. During July and August, we allow pets under 15 lbs, only, and ask that you contact us first to let us know.
