Charming Cotswolds cottage with incredible views

Description

Light and spacious three bedroom cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds with far-reaching views over the Evenlode Valley. Ideally situated between Burford and Stow on the Wold, Nether Westcote is a beautiful, quiet village and is home to one of the Cotswolds' favourite pubs, The Feathered Nest Inn. Windrush Cottage is perfect for ramblers, cyclists, family holidays or individuals looking for peace and quiet while feeling right at home. The upstairs garret also makes it an ideal writers' retreat. The space This bright and light cottage is a beautiful, open and uplifting place to getaway. As you arrive you'll see a sweet little garden outside the kitchen window, and a large driveway with space for two or three cars. There is a hallway/boot room as you enter so you can leave your coats and muddy wellies as you come in. The cottage has two pretty bedrooms on the ground floor, one with ensuite bathroom, and another bathroom with shower bath right next-door to the other bedroom. The attic room, or writers' garret, which has spectacular views of the Evenlode valley, has two sofa beds for two extra guests (or two kids) and serves as a third bedroom if needed. It also has a Sonos system installed. (Please note that if your booking exceeds four people there is an extra charge per extra person - six people maximum can sleep in the house based on two couples and two other individuals) There's a lovely dine-in kitchen with a table that seats six and very pretty brick fireplace with a traditional log burner. The kitchen has views from the front garden to the rear garden and beyond out across the Evenlode Valley. There is a lovely Range oven, a dishwasher and a small kitchen island, too. It is a wonderful space for foodies to work their magic in, with plenty of kitchen equipment to play with. There is also a cocktail shaker and glasses, and the spacious American-style fridge also features an ice machine. The kitchen also has a record player with a small but select vinyl collection to explore (or bring your own records to play), plus bluetooth speakers to connect your device to and play whatever you choose. There is a small utility room just off the kitchen which has a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board, and also a third loo. The living room is a place of peace and tranquility, the perfect spot to lounge around reading one of the many, many books dotted around, while occasionally looking up and out through the incredible vista window and across the rolling hills and fields of the Evenlode. There are French doors leading straight out to the patio and back garden. The living room also doubles up as a great place to be cosy and watch movies on the very generous-sized flat screen TV, with Netflix, Now TV, Prime, etc all included. There is a smaller tv in one of the bedrooms with an Amazon Firestick to watch apps, if desired (the tv aerial for terrestrial channels is the only thing that is not so great in the house). The main bedroom, situated next to the rear garden patio, offers a large and very comfortable superking size bed. It has beautiful views across the valley, and also features plenty of storage for clothes. The second bedroom has lovely kingsize bed and an ensuite bathroom with a fantastic big bath. There are bookshelves in both bedrooms and in the living room with an eclectic collection of literature to browse through. It's a deceptively big house and even with four or more people it never feels crowded, and every room offers privacy. Guest access With two bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor, this house can accommodate those who struggle with stairs, but the house is not adapted for specific disabilities. Other things to note There is a Celestron telescope that is easy to use and perfect to stargaze on clearer evenings, when the unpolluted night skies are out of this world. There's an Indian Kadai style fire pit on the patio which can be used to cook (there are several cast iron pans to use for this) or just sit by and warm yourself and toast marshmallows on. There is a marshmallow toasting fork, too. And I'll leave you some marshmallows.
