Idyllic cottage in quiet village-2 bed-near Bath.

This exquisite country cottage is a romantic, cosy and comfortable place to spend quality time as a couple or as a small family or group. Every effort has been taken to make it special: Hypnos beds, luxury linens, wood burner, cosy throws, toiletries, 2 Smart TVs, outdoor dining. The location is perfect; peaceful countryside but only 18 minutes from Bath with a bus at the end of the road. Take stunning walks from the doorstep, walk to the local pub or visit many NT properties and Cotswold towns. The space This is a newly furbished characterful cottage with charm and quirks. As you stand in the gabled porch and open the door, ducking if you are tall, you will enter the open plan lounge and dining area. It has a light and open feel with a pretty, glazed wood burner, L shaped sofa facing the stone mullion windows, stair way up to the first floor and opening to the kitchen. There is an under stairs cupboard for coats and shoes, or wet and muddy items can be left in the porch to dry. Logs are left so you can make a fire. Games, books and a box of 'useful things' can be found on the shelf, alongside a folder of information about the area and local tips of where to go. The Galley Kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge (no freezer) , microwave and washing machine. The Dining Area has a thick cushioned pew and makes an excellent spot for meal times, playing board games or reading a paper. Or if there is work to be done, a good lap top station. Sit here and enjoy the green views and bird song. Up to the first floor and the ceilings are vaulted, with exposed timber beams. Dramatic lighting has been chosen to show these off. On the landing is an information board with pictures and info about lots of lovely places to visit. There is also the Hive thermostat so you can keep control of the temperature. The Main Bedroom has a mix of old and new. You can feel the age of the property standing on the extra wide floor boards, looking out at the garden through the stone mullion windows. Country cottage pieces are mixed with some designer elements; Loaf headboard, stunning chandelier, Ralph Lauren rug, 800 count duvet and pillow covers and a Hypnos bed with generous under bed storage. PLEASE NOTE: There is a small step down from the hallway to the master bedroom and the bed is a tailor made slightly shorter king size measuring 6 foot long. This is due to the shape of the room. The bedroom Smart TV is also in the bedroom. A socket with USB point is by the drawers and a hairdryer is in the drawers. Bedroom 2 is a small but charming room, again with vaulted ceilings and a pretty view from the window. The bed is a Hynos bed made to measure: 2 ft 10 wide by 6 foot long. Again, there is under bed storage, a chest of drawers and a 4 coat hooks for clothing. The wardrobe in the main bedroom may be shared if required. This room has been designed to be versatile so it is a lovely space for an adult or a child. Standard bedding is white but if you would like a more child orientated duvet set, we have different options: dinosaurs, butterflies, etc. and we would be glad to prepare the room specifically. Animal cushions, rugs and ornaments are put out if a child is staying. The Bathroom has natural stone flooring, a travertine tiled walk in shower with lit alcoves and two roof lights. The shower height goes to a maximum of 6 foot 3 inches. The shower head can be removed for hand washing. Some toiletries are provided. Guest access All areas Other things to note We want all guests to be delighted and never disappointed so it is good to know the following: if you are tall, the ceiling heights are not a problem but the beds are 6 foot long and the shower is 6ft 3. There is a small step down from the hallway to the master bedroom. The kitchen is charming but narrow, as shown on the floorplan and pictures. You may wish to wear slippers downstairs as there is hard flooring.
