Winter Star Mountain Retreat, Creekside
Winter Star Mountain Retreat, Creekside
Description
We are so happy to announce our property is once again ready for guests! In the flooding of Hurricane Helene, September 27th 2024, our community was severely impacted. The surrounding area still shows many signs of the flood, but the roads are rebuilt, and it is safe to access our property. The cabin and is just as wonderful as pre-Helene, but we did sustain damage to our driveway bridge, so we ask guests to park right before the bridge and walk, not drive, across until it can be repaired. The space *PLEASE NOTE: We have a strict NO ANIMAL policy. We are very sorry, but we are not able to accommodate service animals due to the host's severe allergies. We have outdoor security cameras. If a pet is spotted on the cameras or evidence of pets found in the home, we will charge a $500 fine for deep cleaning. The Surroundings: This home is nearly surrounded by waterfalls! Choose one of the 4 outdoor patios to sit and overlook this gorgeous rushing creek. Most people have to hike long hours to experience beauty like this, but our guests get to enjoy it all to themselves and with no effort. This is truly a unique experience you will never forget! The House: Two bedrooms (1 king + 1 queen bed) and two bathrooms on the main floor. Below is a cozy alcove with a bunk bed (double on bottom and single up top). This bunk bed room is open to the stairwell that goes in between the two floors. The main floor includes a great room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and breakfast nook. There are many decks surrounding the outside of the home, overlooking the views and waterfall. Other amenities: Include a Smart TV, stereo, indoor fireplace, jacuzzi tub in the primary bathroom, grill, outdoor Solo Stove fire pit, outdoor hot tub, and board games. Location: The home is located at the back of the Cattail Creek Community, at the base of Mt. Mitchell, and nestled in Pisgah National Forest. While you would need to drive around the mountain to get to the top of Mt. Mitchell, there are an abundance of hiking trails located on Winter Star Mountain, where this home resides. The Environment: The outdoor environment of this cabin is rustic due to the nature of being amongst so much water and trees! You may encounter bugs & wildlife. We do our best to keep up with cleaning leaves off the deck, but please excuse any buildup of leaves in the Fall as there are a LOT of trees surrounding the house. Guest access Guests will have private access to all areas of the property except for the supply closet underneath the house. Guests must climb 2 flights of stairs to enter the house. Stairs are slippery when wet! Other things to note There is no cell service here but our WiFi is very strong. Commercial-grade symmetric 1Gbps service, plus wireless coverage all over the property. Once you connect to WiFi you will have cell service. 4-wheel drive is highly recommended. 4-wheel drive is a must in winter months if there is snow or ice. Please print out directions before arrival as you will lose cell coverage about 10-15 minutes away. If guests have overflow trash, they will need to haul the trash to the dump, which is a short drive down the road. This system is the best way of preventing pests and bears that are attracted to trash. Trash can be left in the house at check out. We have outdoor security cameras strictly for security purposes. The cameras are located on the back patio, the front door, and overlooking the carport/driveway.
