The Eagles Retreat is a unique destination. A rustic three bedroom stone cottage on 370 acres of natural bush along the Sevens Creek. Nestled in the Strathbogie Ranges overlooking a creek with a cascading perennial waterfall, The Eagles Retreat is a perfect sanctuary for a couple or family to be immersed in nature surrounded by Australian mammals and birds. Just 2 hours drive from Melbourne, guests can walk the stony outcrop hills and meander the stunning bubbling river and waterfalls. The space The Cottage is a tastefully decorated home away from home. !! PLEASE BE ADVISED!! Please be aware that this cottage is warmed by a wood fire and no other heating system. We do have warm water bottles and extra blankets to keep you warm at night. On arrival, the fireplace will be laid for you, so all you have to do on your first night is light it and keep it going. In the instruction folder, you will also find instructions on how to light a fire. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, cooktop, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine and kettle and a washing machine in the laundry. A generous veranda immerses you in the landscape with outdoor eating and a gas fired BBQ. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cottage and Garden Room if required. Within boundaries, guests are free to walk the hills and meander the river. Other things to note The property is so named for the families of Wedge Tailed Eagles residing on the property which you’re likely to see circling overhead. Whether you’re writing a book, bird watching, having a romantic weekend or bush walking with the family, The Eagles Retreat caters for you. Within a 20 minute drive there are fabulous wineries, restaurants and cafés but we recommend you bring food and drinks for your stay. There are wildlife on the roads so be wary to be safe for you and for them, especially when driving at night.
