Stay with us & our pups in our home on the west side of Grand Rapids. Less than 10 minutes from downtown, you will feel pleasantly disconnected but conveniently close when you wish to venture out. The house is close to all the local breweries, parks, trails, highways, restaurants & shopping. We also provide a ton of amenities! Great for couples, solo adventurers & business travelers! We hope you chose to stay with us for your visit to Grand Rapids. The house is a perfect getaway spot and place to relax. We enjoy living here and have extra space to share with those who need a place to stay that is private but not a hotel or apartment. You will be staying in our newly finished basement and have the entire downstairs to yourself, however, you are not limited to the basement as the main floor of the house and amenities are open to our guests including our full kitchen, and multiple living spaces. The basement includes a guest room, private bathroom, wet bar/kitchenette, dining area, family room, and office. In the bedroom, you'll have a king-size bed with bedding & pillows, a closet with hangers, a TV hooked up with a FireTV stick, and a Smart Speaker. The bathroom includes a double vanity, a shower with jets and room for 2, and heated floors. The toilet is also top of the line, with features like automatically opening when approaching and closing when departing, hand-free auto flushing as soon as you stand up, a heated seat, warm bidet water, and air drying. The bar has a small fridge and freezer, a microwave, and Keurig. The family room has a sleeper sofa with a queen-size bed. You'll also find another TV with a FireTV stick. The office includes a desk and an office chair. While we keep to ourselves, it is worth noting we have a little one! He was born in November 2021 and is at the house most days so you may here him periodically. Additionally, our dogs are not let into your room (even when no guests are with us) but we do require you to be a dog lover as we do not separate them from guests (it's their home, too!). They are bathed regularly, and we clean up after them constantly to ensure allergens are minimized! We always make sure our house is clean! In addition to the deep cleaning we do before your stay, we have a robot vacuum we will run often during your stay, and multiple air purifiers in the house to mitigate allergens and odor-causing bacteria from the dogs, however, please note if you do not like dogs or have dog-related allergies that this may not be the best place for you. The entire basement will be private to you and your party. The main floor rooms are available to you as well but will be shared with us if we're ever around. We will be available to you (in person or via text/phone) but will not bother you. There are many living areas (and we tend to be busy on the weekends), so we may barely see each other. We tend to try to stay out of your way and take our dogs with us wherever we go (especially in the summer)! Let us know if you prefer to meet or if you prefer we never do (We seriously don't care; it's your vacation!). "The West Side is the Best Side"...less than 10 minutes from downtown in a family neighborhood, you will feel pleasantly disconnected from downtown to unwind but conveniently close when you wish to venture out! We live in a family-friendly, quiet, safe neighborhood with sidewalks safe for walking and great people to interact with. Easy access to all highway routes, close to parks, trails, the zoo, downtown, breweries, nightlife, and many amazing restaurants! It is a very cheap and fast Uber ride to downtown (typically $7). If driving, it is less than 10 minutes to downtown and 15 minutes to most outlying cities since we are near all highway routes. You can also bike straight to downtown or nearby breweries from our house (bikes available upon request). It is also only about a 30-minute drive to multiple beaches along Lake Michigan, including Holland, Grand Haven, etc. (beach supplies available upon request). The fireplace is currently under maintenance and not able to be used. While we keep to ourselves, it is also worth noting we have 2 children and 2 dogs. Our 10 year old daughter is with us every other weekend, and we also have a little boy! He was born in November 2021 and is at the house most days so you may hear him periodically. We sleep 2 stories up, so you will not hear him at night. You may also hear the dogs walking and an occasional bark. Also, there might be rare occasions when we would need to access the mechanical/storage room in the basement but will communicate before doing so. Lastly, while we do have a legal window in the bedroom, there aren't any in the living space. It is well light with lights but the natural lighting is limited to the bedroom.
