Description

Second floor of a cozy bungalow walking distance to American Tobacco Campus and everything downtown Durham has to offer! You'll have a bright open-concept studio space with a queen-sized bed, cozy living area, large private bath, and small kitchenette including a small dining table/desk. Access is through our living room and kitchen and up a flight of stairs. We are an anti-racist and LGBTQ friendly home. We are both triple vaxxed. También hablamos Español und Deutsch. The space Our home has all of the benefits of a new house but with old-home charm. Your efficiency studio is on the second floor and has a large full-bath. The room has a queen-size bed with a very comfy mattress and a private living area with a sofa and coffee table. The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, electric kettle, pour-over coffee maker, and mini-fridge. You are also welcome to use the full kitchen downstairs that is shared with us. Note: the kitchenette does not have a designated sink, so you'll need to wash larger dishes in the full kitchen downstairs. Pets: We allow dogs on a case by case basis. COVID precautions: We are fully vaccinated and are being cautious to avoid covid exposures. We will keep our distance from you indoors when unmasked. Our HVAC system is equipped with a HEPA filter. We allow at least 24 hours between guests to ensure that the room is adequately ventilated. We do have a small group of friends we spend time with indoors unmasked. It is possible that they might come through the house (for dinner, etc) during your stay. Getting around: We are an easy walking distance to American Tobacco Campus, Full Frame, the Durham Bulls Stadium, DPAC, and the center of Downtown Durham. We are also within 1 mile of NCCU and the Pauli Murray center. Easy access to highway 147 provides quick routes to Duke and everything else in the Triangle Area. Note: While we walk to and from downtown at all hours, some guests do choose to use a ride-share (Uber/Lyft) when returning to the house after dark. Guest access You will have full access to your private upstairs space. You're also welcome to use the main kitchen downstairs, just give us a heads-up so that we can get you oriented (some of our cookware requires special care). You'll also have access to the washer/dryer downstairs that is across from our bedroom. Feel free to explore the large fenced-in backyard, complete with native plant landscaping and small fish-pond. Or hang out on the covered porch - which is perfect for a rainy day outdoor hang. Other things to note You'll be sharing the house with us (two cis white queer females) and our lazy hound dog. As this is our home, we may have friends over for dinner, a small game-night, or co-working during your stay. We have a sharing garden in the front of our home and invite neighbors (and Airbnb guests!) to harvest whatever they like. Depending on the season, you might expect to find a neighbor picking strawberries or harvesting collards as you come in/out of the house. We just ask that you treat any visitor you encounter with respect. We don't have a TV, sorry!
