The Summer Kitchen is a restored building on our historic farm place. This open-concept space has a kitchen with a gas stove, and bottled water. 2 Beds are upstairs in a loft area. We are a real farm, no curtains on windows here! Nestled along the edge of the farm yard with a wooded area & trail. Propane-heated shower, and boat toilet. A farm experience. Deck/Firepit/seating with firewood nearby. The space The Gippe Farm is on the National Register of Historic Places. This is a working hobby farm. Coffee, tea, and basic kitchen supplies are provided. All pots, pans and cooking tools are available. Towels, supplied. Bathroom has shower, and a self contained toilet that must be emptied. We will do that for you during your stay. Guest access On-site you will find: Deck, swing set, sandbox, garden, chicken coop, farm animals. There is access to woods, trail, firepit and firewood. Hunting on public lands for pheasant, turkey, deer, and small game within 15 miles. Maps available upon arrival. Fishing at Lac qui Parle Lake, in Minnesota and Chippewa Rivers nearby. We would be happy to provide fresh eggs when available. Chippewa River is a great tubing river, slow and easy! Usually not very deep water. Ask for info. Parking in driveway or on lawn near summer kitchen. Other things to note Excellent hunting area for waterfowl, upland game birds, and deer, with public land nearby. Great place to explore native prairie or bird watch!
