Watson Woods Cabin

Far from noise and distraction. Surrounded by wilderness yet only four miles to the center of Woodstock. The house sits on 5 acres of private land in a wooded hamlet surrounded by other homes. Situated on top of a small hill with our other property - the Studio - down below. Nearby stunning Cooper Lake and Mink Hollow hiking trail. Rustic architecture meets mid-century design. An indoor napping hammock under a Nelson light…Nooks with views for reading, writing and streaming. The space The cabin is a post and beam barn construction with open floor plan in a traditional Salt Box configuration. There are no nails, only joinery which provides the impressive scale of rough hewn timber posts and spacious feels throughout. The galley kitchen features a large marble countertop with enough cookware to make a five course meal. The large dining room table overlooks a large picture window with local views. The low profile living room has a wraparound couch and two club chairs that cozy up to a modern Scandinavian wood stove. The bedroom is lofted upstairs, as is one bathroom. Tented canvas "walls" provide privacy. Please note: bedroom is not soundproof at all. Suggested activities include: connecting with the outdoors while remaining in deep chill mode; laying on the couch and gazing outside at the big bluestone rock formation aka nature's tv; listening to records while making a meal and looking out for the cutest lil deer families at dusk; practicing warrior one pose in the seasonal porch or absolutely nothing. Guest access The entire Cabin, deck, and stone fire pit area as well as surrounding fields and nature with respect to posted signs in the woods and my neighbors private driveways. Walk to the nearby lake or trailhead at Mink Hollow Other things to note The cabin is not suitable for children at any age. Although I cannot deny infants under the age of two, I ask as your host to not book with children. I live on the property at the bottom of the hill with my partner and mini schnauzer so you will likely see us.
