Description

Cosy Corner Hideaway is a spacious yet cosy double storey home away from home set amongst 5 acres of gardens, and spectacular Sheoak and Jarrah bushland. Offering views of Cosy Corner beach, you will feel like you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life as soon as you arrive. From the crisp, fresh air to the calls of our beloved kookaburra family, everyday life will seem far away. The space Our family welcomes your family to our much loved bush retreat. Ideal as a year round getaway, you can keep warm and cosy in front of the open fireplace or the pot belly stove, or enjoy the cooling sea breeze straight off the Southern Ocean on the warmer days. The house is comfortably appointed, with a full kitchen including luxury extras such as a dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and an air fryer. There are several living areas allowing everyone to enjoy separate activities before coming together around the expansive dining table. Cosy Corner Hideaway has two televisions and DVD players, and a huge variety of movies available. There are also board games and jigsaw puzzles for those cosy evenings inside. Quality bed linen and bath towels are provided for your comfort. Please bring your own beach towels. Downstairs Enter through the cosy sitting room featuring vintage reclining wingback chairs, perfect for spending a few hours reading or just watching the abundant birdlife, including families of Blue Splendid Fairywrens and kookaburras. You might be lucky enough to spot our local quendas, Western ring tailed possums and kangaroos too! From this space you will find a master suite with a queen bed, chest of drawers, couch, tv, and pot belly stove. A huge, rustic open plan living and dining area, along with a well-appointed country kitchen, form the heart of the home with a unique open fireplace being the main feature. The kitchen contains everything you need to cook up a storm, and includes a dishwasher, huge oven, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and air fryer. A lovely island bench and stools create the perfect place for a glass of local beer or wine while the chef of the house prepares a meal using wonderful local produce available on our doorstep. Under our unique chandelier is our expansive dining table, where everyone gathers to share tales of the day’s adventures, meals, and games and puzzles. A bathroom and separate toilet complete the downstairs area, with a washing machine and trough in an alcove outside, and a dryer available just inside the backdoor. Upstairs A comfortable living area with a large ceiling fan is at the top of the stairs, with a full-sized lounge suite to sit back and watch the huge TV or just soak in the beautiful views of the treetops and the Southern Ocean. For those nights when the air is still and there are only the sounds of the bush around, there is a small balcony accessed from this room. Accessed from the living room is a large bedroom offering a queen size bed, expansive built-in wardrobe and drawers, overhead fan and huge picture window with those same spectacular views of the ocean and treetops. Bedroom two has a double bed, and a built-in wardrobe and drawers. Bedroom three has a double bed and a single bed, a chest of drawers and an overhead fan. Each of the bedrooms has an oil column heater, plus woollen doonas and extra blankets for those chilly nights. The bathroom has a shower with a small bathtub below, a toilet and hand basin. Our house is rustic and quirky, and we think that adds to the warmth of our bush retreat. A lot of love has gone into creating our home and we welcome you to enjoy the home and ask that you treat it with the same respect you would your own home. No smoking is allowed inside, and no candles please. We do everything we can to reduce our fire risk. Our water is exclusively supplied from rainwater tanks on the property, and we ask you keep that in mind whilst showering and bathing. Guest access Originally starting life as a rose nursery, you will find many old, rare varieties of roses on the property. The garden is a work in progress for us, and we are always uncovering mystery fruit trees and other flowering beauties. Please take care whilst exploring the block, a lot of the paths are uneven and can pose a trip hazard, as can our little quenda holes! And of course, always be snake aware!! There is a very comfortable outdoor setting, a gas Weber BBQ and a firepit (for use only between 14 May and 1 November). Please check local fire ban periods before using the BBQ or firepit, and ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving it. Other things to note Pets: we understand that pets are part of the family, and as such are very welcome at Cosy Corner Hideaway. Please note the property is not fenced, and as such your pet’s safety is your responsibility. Whilst your furbaby is welcome inside, please keep them off the furniture and beds, and please clean up after them. And of course, please respect the native animals. Drone use: Our neighbours are very private and choose to live on the hill because it is secluded and peaceful. As such, we ask that you don’t fly drones/UAVs on the property. Our neighbours and community are very important to us. Cosy Corner Hideaway is located in a fire-prone area. Please read the house manual when you arrive and make yourself familiar with the fire plan. Registration Details STRA6330WV265YCE
