Murphy’s Roost Cabin
Murphy’s Roost Cabin offers a rustic, peaceful stay, where you can avoid the crowds and enjoy the natural beauty of the wooded surroundings. Murphy’s Roost Cabin was built in 1975 by my father - Myles B Murphy. He used hedge post as footings and recycled barn wood siding for the interior walls. Myles made sure there was enough space for his nine children when he built a sleeping loft running the entire length of the cabin. The loft was the inspiration for Myles to proudly proclaim the cabin as “Murphy’s Roost”. Over time, additions and improvements have been made, and will continue to be made. There is a master bedroom with a full-size (double) bed on the main floor. The upper loft has a queen-size bed with a room divider on the west end, and three twin-size (single) beds in the middle and on east end. There is a full kitchen and a bathroom with sink & shower. A graveled field road takes you to the cabin with a graveled parking area. During your stay please feel free to contact Tim or Dee should you need anything or experience any issues. Murphy’s Roost Cabin is located near the Carthage Lake Park and Lake Hill Winery You will need to put a little gravel in your travel near the cabin and on the backroads; but once you get toward town, there is blacktop and hard covered roadways. Guests are free to fish the pond and hike the nearby trails.
