Garden Cottage - Ashover Village near Matlock

Welcome to our private, peaceful and centrally located village cottage. The cottage is tucked away in its own secluded garden, less than five minutes' walk from the three village pubs, the farm shop, cafe, post office and sports grounds. It has been recently renovated (new bathroom for 2024!) & is furnished with high quality linens, furniture and appliances. It is a light filled, relaxing space in the heart of Ashover & on the doorstep of the Peak District, close the the spa town of Matlock. The space A lovely, private cottage with patio garden to enjoy during your stay. The entrance to the cottage is accessed via a gated private drive and footpath. Downstairs you have an entrance hall, well equipped kitchen and a spacious and a light filled living area, overlooking the private garden with outdoor seating. Upstairs you have a shower room and a double bedroom, with a Juliet balcony overlooking the garden and church. The garden is South facing, providing plenty natural sunlight and perfect for sitting out to enjoy a meal, a drink or to read a book. There is plenty of free on-street parking available. If you need off-street gated parking please let us know. You can choose to either cook and eat-in at the cottage (we have the Ashover Farm Shop close by) as well as Stamp post office/coffee shop (breakfast and lunch Monday through to Saturday) and the three local pubs - The Old Poet's Corner, the Crispin Inn and the Black Swan. The Tuck Shop in the village provides milk, bread, eggs, local ice cream and you can eat in or take away their delicious home made cakes. Our favourite is the lemon/ lavender loaf. You are twenty minutes from Chatsworth House and Baslow, twenty five minutes from Bakewell and just eight minutes from Matlock/Matlock Bath. You will find many wonderful countryside walks and public footpaths right here in Ashover. If you are cyclists , there is space to lock up your bikes in the fenced and gated garden. Guest access This is a self contained cottage. The cottage and private patio garden area are yours to enjoy during your stay. Other things to note Please note that you are in the heart of the village so it is important that you are respectful of the neighbours and do not make noise after 10 pm. Well behaved small/medium sized dogs welcome, please check with us before booking.
