Cozy, Micro-A-Frame on Pristine Maine River Bank.
Description
"Unplug" and get refreshed when you stay in this rustic gem situated on the bank of the Penobscot River. Take in the sunrise from your kayak/boat or campsite river bank. "Bentley's Bunkhouse" is just 10 minutes from the town of Lincoln, ME which offers supply stores, shops, and restaurants. 45 Minutes to Penobscot River Trails, 1.5 hours to Baxter State Park's south entrance. 2 hours to Acadia National Park. Post-adventures, unwind by the fire and drift off to sleep with a view of the night sky. The space This micro-space offers 80 square feet to relax and unwind. The south-side of the A-Frame roof offers a clear view of the great outdoors. It also opens up to allow you to immerse yourself in nature while offering protection from the elements. Sleep under the stars with the roof open or closed. There are 2 Coleman cots for guests to use (BYOB - Bring Your Own Bedding). This is a primitive experience. Carry in and carry out. There is NO STOCKED KITCHEN area (no utensils, dishes, etc.) What we DO have for you for your food prep is a 2 burner Coleman stove (bring your own propane - 1 lb cylinders), a fire pit, and a State Park grade charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal). For our java-lovers we have a coffee percolator that pairs well with the Coleman stove to create delicious "camp coffee". Portable outdoor seating, picnic table, and hammock also provided. Bathroom facility consists of a "well appointed", one-hole outhouse endearingly known as the "Chestah Rivah Shittah". Guest access This A-Frame, while private, is adjacent to a family camp. There are Adirondack chairs by the river to the left of the a-frame that are for guest use. All lawn furniture (hammocks, swings, Adirondacks, etc.) to the right of the a-frame out in front of the family camp are not intended for guest use. The property is set up in such a way that both guests, and owners have their own private spaces. The only shared space is the dock which guests are welcome to access and enjoy during their stay! :) Other things to note The local ecosystem fosters a healthy population of mosquitos, black flies, hornets, peepers etc. Please know that bug spray is essential for an enjoyable stay. : ) This rental unit is an unsecured space. The side entrance door locks, however the south-side roof that open does not lock and if you sleep with it open, obviously you are not secured (think glorified lean-to). That being said, this is a very safe neighborhood. We have never had any issues.
