Description

Welcome to Bruichburn, Tomintoul, the highest village in Highlands. This is the best place to get away - peaceful and with magnificent views - yet a 3 minute walk to the village centre of Tomintoul with lots to see and do nearby. The accommodation is a great base to walk, cycle or drive to many famous Scottish attractions. Why not explore the Speyside Whisky trail or do a short walk to the Tomintoul Dark Sky and Bird Hide, take a walk to River Avon or 10 minute drive to the famous Lecht pass. The space Accommodation is on one floor with lounge, kitchen, dining room with snuggle space with marvellous views to fields, hills and mountains, family bathroom, porch for boots/coats, two double bedrooms (one of them ensuite) and a twin bedroom. The bungalow is nicely decorated and tastefully furnished to a very high standard to ensure your stay is comfortable and warm. Being on a single level, with an entrance ramp at the front, the accommodation is suitable to families, couples and is also particularly suitable for older or less able guests. The Lounge In colder weather, snuggle into the comfy sofas and warm your feet by the fireplace. Sky TV, Wi-Fi, CD player and a selection of books, games and music are provided for your entertainment. The Kitchen and snuggle space With its windows offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, this is an excellent place to cook, sit, relax, admire the scenery, and spot the local wildlife. Step out through the sliding door to the patio and savour the wider views and the clear Highland air. Here you'll fond everything you need to cook up a delightful meal, plenty of cupboards, fridge, and dishwasher. You'' also find lots of cupboards, fridge, and dishwasher. You'll also find lots of local information and maps to help you plan great days out. The Dining room The large family dining table leads off from the kitchen to provide the setting for great evening meals together. You can admire the magnificent views during your meal. Bedrooms One of the two double bedrooms has an ensuite shower room and offers grandstand views over fields and hills. The other double bedroom and the twin bedroom share a family bathroom and have comfortable double and two single beds facing the front garden and quiet Conglass Lane. Main Bathroom This is the perfect place to relax at the end of the day with an indulgent soak in the generously sized bath. The Garden and Outside The large garden surrounding the bungalow provides plenty of space to lounge, soak in the ever-changing moods of the fields and hills and watch out for deer, buzzards, finches, hares and the antics of the sheep and cows that enjoy the surrounding pasture. A selection of outdoor games is also provided, along with patio furniture (table, four chairs and umbrella) and secure bike/gear space. Guest access Facilities included in the tariff: Electricity Central Heating (oil) Logs for fireplace Bedding Washing up liquid, detergent, dishwasher tablets, hand soap, toilet roll, kitchen roll. Also provided for your use and convenience: Microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, fridge, electric hobs and oven, kettle, toaster. Iron and ironing board, Main Bathroom – WC, bath, over bath electric shower, mirror, shaver point. Ensuite – WC, mirror, power shower with jets. Generous parking space for up to three cars. A lockable shed or garage is provided for your use, suitable for storing bikes, outdoor gear, fishing tackle, canoes etc. Sorry, but we are unable to accommodate pets. Other things to note We can accommodate a maximum of six people, including any children. Our check in time is between 3pm and 6pm. If you don't think you will arrive between these times please get in touch before booking to check access, thank you. Our Covid19 strategy We maintain a high level of cleanliness here at Bruichburn for our guests and we do apply cleaning protocols in line with guidelines set out by the Scottish Government and Airbnb to minimise the risk posed by Covid 19. In addition, we provide extra hand hygiene and cleaning products for our guests (starter pack of gloves, sanitiser, cleaning products, tissues). To help us minimise the risks fully we are making some temporary changes to what we ask of our guests: Please strip beds on departure and bag up linen (bags will be provided), Please place all rubbish in the bins, Please maintain excellent hand and general hygiene. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Public Transport Air The nearest airports to Tomintoul are Inverness and Aberdeen. Road From the North (Inverness) - take A9, then leave A9 at Aviemore, take A95 to one mile South of Marypark then branch left on to the B9008 to arrive at Tomintoul From the South (Edinburgh, Stirling, Glasgow, Dundee) - join the A9 at Perth, then leave the A9 to Aviemore, take A95 to Grantown on Spey, then A939 to Tomintoul. From the East (Aberdeen via Royal Deeside and Ballater) - leave A93 at Ballater, take A939 to Gairnshiel, continue to A939 passing Corgaff and over Lecht pass to arrive at Tomintoul. From the West (Fort William) - take A86 to Kingussie, join A9 at Aviemore, take A95 to Grantown on Spey, then A939 to Tomintoul. Train The nearest train station is Aviemore (25 miles). Train links are available from Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh with direct service from London and Aberdeen. You can also travel overnight on ScotRail’s Caledonian Sleeper. Bus services Citylink and Megabus operate services from Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh that stop at Aviemore. To reach Tomintoul you will need to access the local bus service which is available from Grantown on Spey and Aberlour. Registration Details MO-00015-F
