The space The loft was designed with local artists — the walls, the details, the colors. Everything you see was made with intention. It's one of the most personal spaces in the building. Two levels: kitchen and living area below, double bed in the mezzanine above. The bathroom has both a bathtub and a separate shower — a rare find in Old Havana. It's part of Amargura 62, a project we've been building slowly for 11 years. When we started, this was a crumbling 1916 colonial building. We've restored it room by room, with the help of local artists, always trying to preserve what was original and add what felt right. The building is also a community. Our neighbors — the people who've lived here for decades — are part of how it works: they look after the plants, handle the laundry, keep the common areas alive. Patricia's parents prepare the breakfasts each morning in the tropical patio, with fresh local ingredients, the same way they've done it since the beginning. You're not staying in a hotel. You're staying in the result of a lot of love, effort, and many free and creative minds.
