"The Gribble" Handcrafted Shepherds Hut

Perfect for nature lovers looking for an idyllic retreat away from everyday life. A beautiful handcrafted shepherd's hut situated in its own picture perfect orchard surrounded by fields and wildlife. Enjoy an evening in with the cosy woodburner or sit out next to the fire pit listening to the tranquil sounds of the countryside. A truly unforgettable getaway. The space A lovely and unique way to spend some time away from modern life in a stunning location with oodles of quirkiness and comfort. "The Gribble" is warm and toasty thanks to the woodburning stove and maximum insulation. It is equipped with everything you need, except the things you want to get away from. Hence there is no wifi unless you bring your own. Your car is parked about 100m away from the hut and you approach along a grassy path, therefore do bring wellies or boots. The orchard is solely used by The Gribble so you have the whole place to yourselves. It is unlit so a torch is a must. There is a comfy double bed with duvet and pillows and some extra blankets incase of chilly evenings. Please do be aware that the bed is raised, snuggled into a nook, it’s not suitable for anyone with limited mobility. We provide freshly laundered linen although you will need to bring your own towels. There is a table for two inside or a picnic table and further seating outside amongst the apple trees. The handmade kitchen area has all the essentials, including a gas stove and small fridge as well as all the crockery and cutlery you need. The hut has a Windy Smithy log burner fitted to HETAS standards. There is a carbon monoxide alarm and a fire extinguisher. A kettle can be simmered on the top of the stove as well as a frying pan or saucepan. There is also a gas stove if you need it. Outside there is a Kadai fire pit with tripod that can cook anything from a stir fry to a casserole. This can also be used to sit round in the evening and watch the flames. Seasoned wood is provided. All the pots and pans for the fire pit are kept in the wash up area. Although the hut is essentially "off grid" we run eco friendly solar electric and a separate gas powered shower. The toilet and showershack are for your exclusive use and are approximately 20 metres away. There is also a tap for drinking water and a wash station. We are happy to let you charge phones or use a fridge at the farmhouse. Other things to note If The Gribble isn’t large enough for your requirements, we can also provide a bell tent that sleeps a minimum of two and a maximum of 4 in one space.
