Description
Winter or summer, the Little River Retreat will help you step away from the world - but still be minutes from Reid State Park, Five Islands Lobster, the Georgetown General Store, and the rugged beauty of Midcoast Maine. This is our family camp, with our own books, games, and “vibe”. It is not a hotel, and some things may not be “industry standard”. We love the unique charm of this space and place, and many repeat guests do too. We hope you will treasure (and care for it) as we do! The space This cozy cabin is great for a winter or summer getaway for a small family. One queen bedroom and two twins will host up to four people. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining space and living room, with games, books, and toys. The Little River Retreat is our family’s private camp, and is a comfortable and cozy place to get away from the world. It’s a special place, and we are happy to be able to share it with other people who look forward to enjoying the beautiful coast of Maine. We “tread lightly” on the land, the cabin, and the planet and hope you will too. The property contains a small private pond with one other camp. It’s perfect for watching wildlife and water lilies (though not good for swimming!). The cabin is one mile from Reid State Park or Five Islands Lobster, and five minutes to the Georgetown General Store for pizza or provisions. It is 15 minutes to downtown Bath for a larger store, laundry, or other facilities. A car is essential for exploring the area. Guest access Private residence with plenty of parking. Other things to note This lovely camp gets its washing water from a spring on the property and a shallow well. This is plenty for basic camp needs, but won’t support lots of long showers (especially during very dry summers!). We ask guests to help us be good stewards of the water resources by taking shorter showers and being careful with washing, brushing, and flushing. The property includes a small private pond which is great for enjoying wildlife, but not for swimming. We do have a canoe you can use with two adult life jackets and a few youth-sized jackets. Children under 10 must wear their life jacket by law, and there must be one life jacket per person in the boat.
