Log home privately located on Silver Lake. The cabin sports a large yard. Fish off the dock or take advantage of the canoe and kayaks for use on the lake. The lake has a shallow bottom ideal for kids to play nearshore. The home is pet friendly ( inquire). Winter sports fans the Merrifield to Crosslake snowmobile trail is accessible from the property. We have a heated garge too! Paul Bunyan trail and the Cuyuna County Recreation Area are nearby. Near Brainerd, Nisswa, Crosby and Crosslake. The 1,434 sq. ft. cabin is wholly constructed of Eastern White Pine with a modern, rustic atmosphere. A front deck overlooks the lake and a side porch allows for comfort on a rainy or extremely hot summer day. The cabin has an open floor plan with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and comfortably sleeps up to eight people. The downstairs has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two bunk beds. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed, a loft area with a 43” smart TV and a full bathroom. A public access dock is available on the lake if you choose to bring a boat. The adjacent historic schoolhouse is not rented or occupied. Guest have access to the garage and entire home with the exception of one utility closet. This beautiful property has over 8 acres and 325 ft of shoreline to explore. Inquire about pets, if approved pets must stay confined to the property. There is a limit of 8 guests. Guests should plan on picking up firewood at one of the local vendors along Hwy 3. Fallen Oak is only 2 1/2 hours northwest of the Twin Cities! Nearby you will find a wide offering of restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, breweries as well as various shops to explore. Definitely bring your bikes; you can pick up the Paul Bunyan trail four miles from the cabin in Merrifield and head to Nisswa for summer fun or peddle on to Pequot Lakes. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous check out the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area complete with varying levels of bike trails that traverse the former iron mines of the Crosby-Ironton area. Another option is to load up the kayaks and bring along your snorkel gear if you prefer a change of pace from biking and want to explore the flooded former iron mines. Or explore nearby lakes including Edward, Pelican, North Long, Crosslake, the Gull Lake Chain as well as paddling and sightseeing options on the nearby Mississippi River. Birders can take advantage of the Great River Birding Trail as the cabin is situated in the lower middle reaches of the trail with several sites within 20 miles distance or less. There is a limit of 8 guests. Inquire if you want to bring an additional guest or if you want to bring a dog. There is a limit of two dogs. We offer a three night minimum stay or longer.
