Awesome view, minutes to MONA - private bathroom

Our large and sunny guest room has its own entrance and private bathroom with shower and toiletries and is a short, few minutes drive to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). Price is based on max 2 guests. Wake up to expansive views of beautiful MONA and the Derwent River, along with hillside scenery. Relax and unwind in a creative space filled with beautiful books. The double bed holds a Japanese style futon mattress. This room captures morning light that stays for much of the day. The space The books, the view, the close proximity to MONA aka the WORLD's BEST PRIVATE MUSEUM and the use of your own bathroom with a toilet and shower. We provide basics for your room such as a microwave, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, tea, coffee to help you start your day. You will meet our two boys, Bubbles and Strippy, our pet cat and dog. Plus our two rabbits if you venture to the backyard. Our kitchen has some limited availability as we need to advise that a pet-camera looks towards the kitchen entrance by our fridge. Hence, it's not officially included in shared spaces due to Airbnb's camera policy. We enjoy meeting new people through Airbnb and sharing a sense of trust between us and people we have never met before. We aim to attract self-sufficient guests who understand that we offer a fairly awesome room in our family home that is not always available (as it is mostly kept aside for family and friends). Cleaning fees: we do NOTcharge a cleaning fee, which is common to many Airbnb listings; we simply ask guests to simply remove their rubbish to the large bins upon exit - we think this is a fair exchange. In response to recent feedback we are happy to charge guests a cleaning fee of AUD $20 ahead of your arrival if you prefer to not take out your rubbish (February 2025). Note: The cheapest budget accommodation in Hobart is in backpackers hotels where a "private room" means you willl be sharing a bathroom, microwave and fridge with many other guests for a cost of AUD $99 per night for a couple (Imperial Backpackers, cost checked 12/2/2025). Parking in Hobart CBD is metered at around $4 or more per hour. We think we offer a friendlier and generous experience by comparison. Guest access Wi-Fi, TV and stereo in the room, and also kettle, microwave and toaster, and bar fridge. We suggest stocking up on pre-cooked meals from the supermarket or use a food delivery service for dining on your deck or discretely heat in the microwave. Please use our large outdoor bins near the driveway to dispose of rubbish and recycling. Please note we do NOT include the family kitchen in our listing. Dishes may be left in the sink each morning for us to put in the dishwasher. We have a similar setup to a hotel with regard to offering a kettle in the room which can be filled with water from the bathroom tap. During your stay As little or as much as you like. We moved to Tasmania in late 2015 for a tree-change and would love to hear your stories of travel and what you love about Tassie. Please note we do NOT include the family kitchen in our listing. Other things to note We adopted a large greyhound in July 2019 named Strippy. He is very quiet and loves people. Please note, the bed is a double size which may not suit guests who are very tall. We have external cameras facing cameras for the perimeter of our property and they have not been cause for concern for any of our past guests.
