Located on 20 acres of Blackland Prairie just 20 miles east of Austin, this modern two-story home was designed by an award-winning local architect in 2008. It features a fully-equipped kitchen, grand living room with a large, family-sized table and plenty of seating for your entire crew. Guests are encouraged to take a dip in the hot tub and enjoy a sunset on the expansive back porch overlooking the meadow. The space Cool Mornings & Breezy Evenings: While days can be hot, the porch provides a cool, shaded space, perfect for sipping morning coffee or unwinding with a sunset cocktail. Adjust the hot tub to your preference—a hot soak or a refreshing cold plunge. Master Bedroom Sanctuary: The upstairs master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling, a king bed, a luxurious rain shower, and a private balcony with sweeping countryside views. Second Bedroom & Private Porch: Located on the main level, the second bedroom is adjacent to a full bathroom and enjoys its own private porch. Outdoor Amenities: Roam the open fields, gather around the seasonal fire pit, or rinse off under the outdoor shower. Plenty of parking and space to explore. Read & Relax: Settle in with a cozy read from the expansive selection of books lining the living room shelves. The library includes a range of books on architecture, travel, philosophy, and more. Music & Games: Bring everyone together for a lively board game from our extensive collection, or let your creative side shine with the piano, pump organ, guitar, or ukulele. There’s something for everyone to enjoy—you might not even miss the TV! But if you’re in the mood to stream, you’ll find a Roku and a strong internet signal ready to go. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and large yard. Other things to note Extended Stays: If guests stay longer than one week, the owners may need to tend to some maintenance at the ranch (e.g. service hot tub). They will contact you to coordinate a mutually convenient time and will not need to access the house. Instructions can be provided if you are comfortable with taking on this task and wish not to be disturbed. Stairs & Mobility: If you have any mobility, vision, or balance issues please take note that this house has a lot of stairs- in the entryway, up to the master bedroom, down to the second bedroom, bathroom, living room, and hot tub. The house was originally designed as a private residence, so many of the stairs do not have supportive railings. Any railings are decorative/artistic rather than functional. Safety & Young Children: We do not recommend the house for very young children, especially toddlers. In addition to an abundance of stairs, the back deck does not have a railing. The height of the deck is 3-4 ft from the ground. Please view our photo gallery and use good judgement when determining if this property is a good fit for your group. Please also note: There is partial nudity in some of the artwork. Light & Privacy: There are no curtains in the house. It sits far from the road, so privacy is retained, however morning light may be an issue for some guests. And finally, a word of caution: We want you to enjoy your time on the property. You are welcome to walk the pasture and explore the creek, but this is Texas where some creatures sting and bite. Depending on the season, you may encounter scorpions, wasps, fire ants, and the occasional rattlesnake, among other various wildlife. Take particular care when picking up a rock or log (kick it over with your foot first). For this reason, we do not recommend this property for families with small children. There are six honeybee hives behind the back barn. You will likely see some bees buzzing around on their chores. Much friendlier than wasps. Please don’t get too close to the hives – they will not bother you, if you do not bother them. This unique prairie retreat is ready to host your next peaceful getaway.
