"Yeah Buoy" is a spacious house, with a great view, right on the Potomac River. We are located in a relaxing community, minutes away from shops and restaurants. Our kitchen is well equipped. Our beach area is great for all sorts of water sports or simply relaxing, reading, or taking in the view! The house is right on the Potomac River. Go out the back door onto a grassy lawn that meets the beach. We own to the water's edge, and we love having (small, safe, controlled) fires on the beach when the winds are low. The water is great for kids. It's generally calm and the sand is soft under your feet even in the water. There are five full size beds and a twin size couch/bed. Bedroom 1 has a full size bed, faces the river and has access to a deck. Bedroom 2, facing the street side, has a water view of Monroe Bay. It has a full bed and floor space for a portable crib (not included) if needed. Bedroom 3 has 2 full size beds. The 4th bedroom can be used as shared living space or closed off for privacy. It has a full size Murphy bed (folds down from a wall mounted cabinet) and the couch back flips over to become a twin size bed (extra sheets and mattress cover are available in the hall linen closet). We have plenty of floor space for air mattresses and sleeping bags if you have a few extra kids. Beds will be made with freshly laundered sheets when you arrive, and we ask that you strip the beds that were used and leave the sheets in the laundry room when you leave. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, glassware, and flatware for your group. We provide the essentials such as pots/pans, utensils, coffee pot, dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, etc. If you're particular about any of these things you may want to bring your own. There is also a second full size fridge, a washer, and a dryer in the utility room. There is a bathroom on the lower level with a shower stall. There are also two full bathrooms upstairs, one with a shower stall and one with a tub/shower. Guest towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. Wifi and cable TV are provided. Currently there is one flat screen television in the lower living room and 1 in the upstairs great room, with a DVD player and some movies available. We also have several family board games and card games for you and your family / group to enjoy. We ask that you keep the game pieces with the proper game when finished playing. You will find some random books on our bookshelves should you need some reading material. We have a gas grill on the carport for guest use. Please be sure to clean it and turn the propane tank off after use. Outdoor chairs are available for the lawn and beach, nothing fancy, so if you are particular, you may want to bring your own. We have a few outdoor games available as well. The beach directly in our backyard and to the left of us (facing the water) is private property, however the shoreline to the right is public beach for owners and guests. Feel free to take strolls along that area, as this is not someone's private yard. Entrance is provided via a key code which we will send to you prior to your check in time. We try to meet as many of our guests as possible. We do our best to accommodate any special needs or interests, and we can try to answer any questions you may have about the area. Please contact us concerning check-in or check-out time - we can possibly be flexible. If we're in town, we may stop by to say hi! Feel free to contact us anytime with questions or concerns. Our neighborhood is not "in town" in Colonial Beach. It is a quiet community about a 5-10 minute drive to town. There are 2 cab companies that service our area. Anderson Cab and Shuttle Davis Cab of Colonial Beach Use the side carport entry door with the key code pad. (You can unlock the door on the inside so the code is not necessary each time you enter.) The red kayak is available for renter use. All other boats belong to owners and use is not permitted. We have very soft water – you may want to use soap sparingly. There are additional sheets, towels, and washcloths in the linen closet (upstairs hallway) and beach towels in the lower level bathroom tall cabinet. Rags, a broom, mop, and a stick vacuum cleaner in the laundry room if you should need them (please use the rags rather than our guest towels for dirty jobs). Gas log stove – to turn on, increase temperature on the wall thermostat slightly (listen carefully for the "click"). Lower temperature on thermostat to turn off. (Not available for late spring or summer use)
