Magical, peace and quiet. Semi-rustic setting, nature experience. Great Wifi on a Roku TV. Fully stocked kitchen with dishes, pans, utensils. Generally cool in summer with A/C provided in July/August. Electric baseboard heat in winter and a wood stove with views of the woods. Relax by the fire (firewood provided), we recommend on very cold nights to supplement electric heat with a nice fire. Outdoor shower (seasonal). Access to hiking, farmers market in Franklin on Sunday. East Sidney Lake Dam 2 minutes away (seasonal). Two queen beds in two separate bedrooms. Reading/napping loft with a full futon size mattress. A large leather sofa with a view of the forest. A full kitchen and dining area with lots of natural light. Washer and dryer access downstairs, key in kitchen for exterior basement door. **during winter October-April we recommend an all wheel drive vehicle as the road can get icy and is on a hill. We find it more convenient during snowy times to back into the driveway so you are facing out for departure. For baseball families: All Star village in Oneonta is about 20 minutes away, Cooperstown is about 45 minutes. Dream park is about 40 minutes away. A stand alone ac unit is installed for summer months to keep cabin cool. The cabin sits on a hill on a seasonal dirt road that is plowed. The driveway is flat and long with plenty of parking. The town closes the road past our driveway Nov 1- April 15 (you will see a large “road closed” sign). This means that from our driveway forward up the hill is closed. A busy traffic day the rest of the year is perhaps 5-10 cars passing by. During the coldest winter months the electric heat works very well and we recommend using the wood stove to make additional heat, you will be super toasty! Each heater has its own heat control dial. There is a small cabin 200 feet from the aframe that you pass as you enter the driveway. Rarely owner occupied. No cats please due to family allergy, dogs ok.
