Description

Two bedroom one bath clean, restored historic home in Lower Highland—LoHi—a family-friendly, safe, pleasant neighborhood. Great restaurants are within a quick and enjoyable walk. The Platte River jogging trail is just down the hill, and the central business district and Union station are a 1.5 mile easy walk through cute historic neighborhoods. We are glad to assist you in any way you need during your stay. We are especially happy to make recommendations in terms of what to do or where to eat. The space The master bedroom has a king bed and the front bedroom has a double bed. Both beds have a quality mattress topper and 1,800 threadcount sheets. The sofa converts to a futon to allow for sleeping. (linens/pillows/etc provided), and a pack and play with sheet for the little ones. The kitchen has all the normal amenities, including a stove/oven, allowing you to prepare meals as you please. The refrigerator is large and we have plenty of dishes and utensils, along with basic cookware including children's dinnerware. There is a new Whirlpool dishwasher. We always leave plenty of toilet paper and paper towels but, if you run out during your stay, we are happy to replenish. The bath has plenty of towels and a clawfoot tub with a shower conversion kit. So you may bathe or shower as you prefer. We do provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your convenience. If you've never used a clawfoot tub with shower add-on, it's a little different than a modern shower and a bit of a hassle for tall or large people. But it's like our very own piece of Europe at home. For families with children, we have a pack and play travel crib and toys in the mission cabinet in the living room. There is a booster seat (high chair). There are also children's dinnerware, a step stool for tooth brushing or bed access, a baby monitor in case you'd like to step out back after putting the little one down. There is a 43" smart TV with Roku/Netflix if you'd like to enjoy yourself in the later evenings, or let the kids relax after a hard morning of exploration. There are blackout shades installed as well. There is a 43" Roku smart TV wall-mounted in the living room, as well as a record player. There is a dining room with a custom table made for us by a local furniture maker. There are also a few games and books if you find yourself with time to relax. Street parking is free but, if you arrive at night, you might have to park as much as a block away. It's a nice walk on a quiet neighborhood block though, and you probably won't have to drive or move your car. Guest access Guests may access all of the spaces described. Tonya stays in the bedroom downstairs which has a separate entrance. So the back hallways and backyard are common areas but guests have full run of the upstairs. Other things to note Unfortunately, we can no longer take groups of friends. If you are a family with several young children, no problem at all. Or a couple friends traveling together, that's fine too. But the space is not suitable for a group of friends because the volume just kept getting unmanageable. We offer laundry services for $8 per load (wash dry fold) for guests staying more than one night. Please coordinate with Tonya via SMS. We also offer a complimentary mid-stay cleaning if you are staying for a full week (6 nights). If you are staying for a shorter time but would like to purchase cleaning services, that is an option as well. It is not feasible to retrofit central a/c in these fantastic historical bungalows. Our solution is to put a 8,000 BTU window unit in the main living area. It cools down fast but you have to manage the controls. The air conditioning units are installed June-August, at a minimum, and there are lots of fans as well if you like air movement. We ask that they don't socialize on the front porch after 9pm-ish in order to preserve the quiet neighborhood character. Guests are welcome to use the back patio any time. Because we love our home and want to keep it nice, if the place smells like smoke when you depart or, if your pet eliminates in our home or on our patio, there is a $200 fee. All guests and pets must be registered prior to arrival. The pet fee is per pet. Registration Details 2017-BFN-0004016
