Cozy house on the Camino 10 km from Santiago

Casa das Regueiras is a charming house located in the heart of the Camino de Santiago. It is also a family home in which many generations of my family have lived. A comfortable house, full of natural light, warm and cozy, which in winter smells of burnt firewood and wet grass, and in summer of dry earth. Its location is unbeatable, as it is located in a village 10 minutes by car from Santiago and 5 minutes from Rosalía de Castro airport, with an urban bus stop a few meters away. The space The house has a small garden attached, which is not ordinary. It is presided over by a magnolia of common appearance but which, when it blooms — which happens twice a year — is splendid, monumental, and will undoubtedly make you stop to look at it. The master bedroom window bears witness to this. The house is structured on four open and balconied floors. You can see the rest from practically any point. The ground floor consists of a large living room, embraced by centuries-old stone walls more than 1 meter wide, which will make you feel cool in summer and prevent the escape of heat in winter provided by the iron fireplace that inhabits it. It is decorated in the English style with gingham curtains, sofas and armchairs with turned legs, and a small bookcase. All this will help you survive a rainy afternoon. This floor also houses one of the house's five bedrooms. On the first floor, there is the dining room with a folding table for up to ten people, a sideboard, and a table for curing meats. A white arch will take you to the kitchen with all the essentials. You'll also find one of the three bathrooms. On this floor is the main French-style entrance that takes you through the garden and leads to an open space that unifies the ground floor and the first floor. We highlight this space with a small table with a skirt and a large natural fiber rug that helps divide these two large spaces. On the second floor, we find what we consider the main room because it has a private bathroom, as well as another of the rooms with a double bed. On the top floor are the wallpapered rooms in which their vintage wooden cabinets take on great prominence. In its hallway, a reinvented bench with wooden headboards and a pure sheep's wool cushion. The third bathroom is located on this floor. In this house everything is simple; there is nothing extraordinary but the details are taken care of, which undoubtedly gives it its own character.
