The barn is located right off State Highway 414 so you may hear some occasional road noise. **Please remember that this is a newly renovated barn, in the country next to a vineyard. There may be the occasional "barn, farm & insect noises" & you may see or hear wildlife & bug's once in awhile. The location is what would be considered “rural or out in the country.” This means that you do have a fair share of wild animals running about like deer, fox, rabbits, and hawks. You may see an occasional mouse too! This is more likely if you are walking through the vineyards by prior arrangements from the owners. There are beautiful views of Seneca Lake & the neighboring vineyards. Hector New York is 10 minutes north of downtown Watkins Glen. The Vineyard Guest Barn is surrounded by restaurants, wineries, breweries, distilleries, waterfalls, hiking trails and parks. State Route 414 is the main road north and south. We have 2 off street parking spots available next to the barn near the lower level & 1 parking spot in the back of the barn near the upper, back entrance. We do share driveways with the neighbors so please be courteous when entering & leaving the premise. THIS LISTING HAS A 2 NIGHT MINIMUM AND A STRICT CANCELLATION POLICY. There is parking spots for 3 cars next to the barn. House Rules: No smoking Not suitable for pets No parties or events Check in is anytime after 3PM -Unless you have made alternative arrangements, check in time is 3pm and check out time is at 10 am. -This is an 1810 Historic Barn that has been completely restored. -We ask that you treat this space as if it was your own home. We expect to find the space reasonably clean upon your departure. -When parking please use the designated parking space on the south side of the barn & there is 1 parking spot behind the barn if needed. Please do not park in any non-designated parking spot. The owners reserve the right to have you move your vehicle if needed to facilitate alternative parking arrangements. -No smoking on the premises at all. -No pets are allowed on the premises at all. -No loud music and no parties. The premises only has sleeping capacity for 6 people. There should never be more than 6 people gathered at the premises, unless by previous arrangement. -Please be careful to only flush toilet paper down the toilets. No moist towelette's or paper towels! September/October:During harvest time in the Finger Lakes Wine Country you may hear certain unique sounds that help local vineyards protect the grapes from predators (like deer, birds, turkeys, etc.). These sounds happen during daylight hours and may include bangs from propane cannons, bird distress calls, etc. We hope you won't find them too disturbing. Thank you!
