Peaceful, private, forest hideaway for two
Description
Escape to a secluded forest chalet with a wood-fired hot tub—perfect for a quiet, romantic getaway. The chalet is ideally situated within a short walk or drive to beautiful beaches and outstanding surfing. Excellent options for dining, museums, and local art galleries are also just minutes away. The space Tucked away in a peaceful wooded setting, this private chalet is designed for rest, connection, and a little indulgence. Inside, enjoy a bright open-concept space with floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the forest indoors. Relax on the cozy leather chaise or unwind in the king-size bed with a plush down duvet. The full kitchen and breakfast bar make it easy to settle in and stay awhile. The spa-like bathroom features a custom glass rain shower and heated towel rack, with serene forest views and glimpses of the river below. Step outside to your large covered deck—perfect for morning coffee, evening drinks, or grilling year-round. Lounge in the sun, or follow the path to the fire bowl for cozy nights under the stars. After a day at the beach or exploring, rinse off in the outdoor shower and sink into the warmth of the wood-fired hot tub, surrounded by nature and total privacy. Even during periods when fire features are restricted, the chalet offers a peaceful, private escape—perfect for slow mornings, cozy evenings, and reconnecting in nature. Guest access You have access to the entire chalet and the surrounding woods on this 5-acre property. A trail off the front yard leads you down to, then along, the river. Behind the chalet and across the property is the newly built home of your hosts, Adam and Andrea, their two teen children, and two dogs. Other things to note Heating the wood-fired hot tub is, as one guest put it, a a "labour of love"—and all part of the experience. Once you’ve got a good fire going (think small and hot to start), you’ll want to keep it fed and give the water a stir about every half hour. It usually takes 2.5 to 4 hours to come up to temperature. The good news: it holds its heat beautifully, often staying warm into the next morning. We’ve set you up with plenty of paper, kindling, and firewood to get started and keep things going. If you find yourself needing more kindling, feel free to split some yourself or pick up a bundle at the Petite General Store. IMPORTANT: To ensure safety during dry conditions, local fire restrictions may limit use of the wood-fired hot tub and fire bowl. While we know these are special features, these decisions are made at the provincial level and are outside our control. Thank you for your understanding.
