The White House has recently closed as the owners have moved in, however please keep watching as our large addition will be completed early Spring 2024. Approximately 1200 square feet of new living space with incredible views!! This is a 2nd floor living space!! Your hosts Susan & Rick! Whatever your reason for travel, ALL are welcome at our “new accommodations”! FAMILY VACATION, CELEBRATING A FAMILY MILESTONE, WORK, TRAVELING NURSES, MOTORCYCLISTS, COLLEGE SEARCH, SCOUTING FOR YOUR NEXT HOME? We want you to feel at home. (HOWEVER, NO # GREATER (FOR SAFETY REASONS) AND HAS BEEN BOOKED ARE ALLOWED AT THE WHITE HOUSE! We appreciate your cooperation! The White House has recently closed, and our new space is all 1 level, BUT is on the 2nd floor. Our new accommodations will be 2 nice sized bedrooms with/over sized closets. One king sized and one queen sized bedroom. Our kitchen/living room area is open concept and we have several very high quality area mattresses if need be. The views are incredible and we had FOUR large windows installed in this area. We ask that no more than 5-6 people stay. Our oversized full bathroom has a full tub, 2 sinks & will have a stackable washer/dryer free to guests. There will also be a PACK’N’PLAY if needed, along w/a high chair. We ask that everything is cleaned when finished and put back for the next guest. Unfortunately because the accommodations are going to be on the 2nd floor (I believe 17 steps,) it is not considered handicap accessible. We had a large beautiful deck installed which is 12 x 18 feet. The views from every angle are beautiful! NO FURNITURE IS TO BE MOVED AROUND. Unfortunately some guests believe they are temporarily “renting” Air BnB space and have the right to move furniture. This is not the case. This space is new and no furniture is to be moved please. Entire floor & curb parking. Enjoy!! Guests are able to communicate through Air BNB. My husband Rick & I (Susan) are extremely easy to communicate with - usually respond w/in minutes. Please feel free to reach out w/any concerns, or general questions before your arrival at the White House & while you’re at the White House. More than anything, we want our guests to enjoy their stay! WE DO ASK THAT OUR GUESTS COMMUNICATE W/US AS TO WHEN THEIR APPROXIMATE ARRIVAL WILL BE. UNFORTUNATELY WE DON’T ALLOW FOR EARLY ARRIVAL OR LEAVING LATE, DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE WHITE HOUSE & THE TIME IT TAKES TO CLEAN IN BETWEEN ARRIVAL OF EACH GUEST. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING! IF YOU HAVE FOUND A “GEM” IN SWEETWATER, PLEASE DON’T HESITATE TO LET US KNOW ABOUT IT AND DON’T FORGET TO WRITE YOUR REVIEW The White House is in a private setting with beautiful mountain and valley views, however only 3 miles down the road is Walmart & Ingles for your vacation &/or daily needs. A couple more miles down the road is historic Sweetwater where there are locally owned shops and Restaurants. Sweetwater also has it’s own hospital. Hopefully no one will need their services! Six miles down the road from the White House is The Lost Sea. Try and make time to fit this into your schedule as this is America’s largest underground lake! Please also glance at our on-line Guide Book for some of the local restaurants/sites, including Dollywood & Tail of the Dragon which are both great Day Trips. If YOU find an attraction that we don’t have listed, or a restaurant that you enjoyed, please let us know about it as we’d love to add it to our on-line guide and to our guide book that guests can sit and read at their leisure in the White House. Thank you! You will need to rent a car to drive around Sweetwater, TN and to stay at the White House. Once there, it is a beautiful area to walk around, so bring your sneakers & enjoy the incredible views. Knoxville Airport is about a 45 minute drive to Sweetwater, TN. House Rules To Make Life Easier For Everyone - WE ASK THAT YOU READ BEFORE BOOKING AND ACKNOWLEDGE. We appreciate your time! -ONLY REGISTERED PAID GUESTS ARE ALLOWED TO STAY AT THE WHITE HOUSE! IF YOU BRING EXTRA PEOPLE, (EVEN FOR 1 NIGHT,) WE MUST BE NOTIFIED BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL. NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE! AIR BNB ONLY COVERS REGISTERED GUESTS. FOR CLEANING PURPOSES TIME IS PLANNED IN ADVANCED. THE # PAID FOR IS THE # ALLOWED. TY FOR YOUR COOPERATION! IMPORTANT-THE WHITE HOUSE IS 3 STORIES OF LIVING SPACE! THERE IS NO 1ST FLOOR SLEEPING SPACE (EXCEPT 2 COUCHES.) IT IS “NOT” CONDUCIVE TO ANYONE W/DISABILITIES OR WHO USE WALKING AIDES AS THERE IS NO “PRIVATE” PLACE TO SLEEP. THIS IS THE IMPORTANCE OF STATING WHO IS COMING TO THE WHITE HOUSE UP FRONT &. BEING HONEST. CHILDREN ARE FINE & WE HAVE BABY GATES WHICH SHOULD BE USED IF PARENTS STAY. WE HAVE EVERYTHING THAT A PARENT WOULD NEED FOR CHILDREN, INCLUDING A BRAND NEW PAC N PLAY. WE ASK THAT IF YOU MOVE THE PACK ‘N’ PLAY TO PUT IT BACK WHEN YOU FOUND IT. IF YOUR CHILD DOES ANY DAMAGE, PLEASE LET US KNOW. ANY QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ASKED “BEFORE” BOOKING! ********************************************************* -SMOKING, VAPING IS NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE - PLEASE CONFINE SMOKING TO THE EDGE OF PROPERTY - TY! (WE HAVE ALREADY HAD THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO OUR HOME RECENTLY!!). WE ASK THAT YOU ABIDE BY THESE RULES!! ********************************************************* -AS OF 12/01/2022, DOGS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED. MY HUSBAND & I ARE HUGE ANIMAL LOVERS, & WE WERE HOPEFUL THIS WOULD WORK OUT. IT DID NOT. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING. DO NOT SNEAK ANIMALS IN! ********************************************************* 1. When leaving the White House we ask that ALL trash inside/out be put in the large green trash bin next to the mailbox at end of the driveway. Garbage pick-up is WEDNESDAYS! Please do NOT leave any food behind & empty fridge/freezer. Thank you! (Please leave comforters, pillows on the bed! Thank you!) 2. At the end of your stay, if you would kindly please pull ALL sheets down on beds (that have been used,) AND leave in laundry room on the floor. Un slept beds can be left alone. Used bath towels, face clothes, please drop in the washer. We ask this so wet towels aren’t left on floor or wood items. Also, no guessing as to what is & isn’t dirty. 3. Please start dishwasher (only if you used dishes) just before leaving. (Dishwasher is top operated - you can use “NORMAL WASH”, hit “START” & close. Dish washing pods are under the sink. We only ask these couple things as Tennessee can get warm & we want to avoid any unnecessary smells & bugs at all costs. (Just an FYI - we do tend to have Lady Bugs up on the hill.) We do ask if you use the stove to either lay tinfoil/tray underneath what you are cooking. Cleaning the stove can take hours - we just ask that you clean up after yourself if there is a large mess. TY! 4. We feel our “home” is fully stocked. We do this so our guests feel “at home.” Please do not take anything that doesn’t belong to you. Hangers, TP, PT’s, etc…are all here for our guests convenience. We truly appreciate your cooperation. (Children can take their sippy cup w/them). We stock the WH for an average stay. For additional needs, Walmart & Ingles is a short 3 miles away from the White House. 5. We ask that you put EVERYTHING back the way you found it. This makes it easier for whom takes care of the White House & for when our next guests arrive. We want you to feel comfortable & to thoroughly enjoy your stay, however if every guest does their part, it will make every guests stay enjoyable. 6. Lastly, please do a quick sweep of the White House upon leaving & make sure you have everything you came with…phone, laptops, IPad/chargers, sneakers, jewelry, keys, anything important to you! Unfortunately we aren’t able to mail back items at this time. 7. When leaving the White House, please turn off ALL lights, make sure refrigerator is closed, UNPLUG ALL appliances on the counters please - this is for safety reasons in case of a surge during a storm which Eastern Tennessee is known for.
