The White House Loft

The main White House CLOSED 11/2023 when we retired to TN. This is when THE LOFT, our new Air BnB opened 04/2025. The LOFT built by the Amish, is 1200 sq. ft of open living space w/the same STUNNING views the original White House has. Only 4 miles from Historic Sweetwater, a true Hallmark Town, you can antique, have the best ice-cream, visit the infamous LOST SEA, walk to restaurants. Whatever your reason for visiting, Sweetwater will become a fast favorite for sure! The space My husband & I took a short break from Air BnBing while the Amish built our new Air BnB space “The LOFT!” We’re excited for you to book our new space! We’ve been told from our guests that our space is truly special. Susan & Rick - your hosts! LOFT SPACE: 2nd floor/1 level/1200 Square Feet 2 Bedrooms: 1-King Bedroom 1-Queen Bedroom (There is also a very comfortable living room couch & a very comfortable queen size air mattress for a 5th person if necessary.) Each bedroom has a mounted flatscreen, ceiling fan/light, dresser, extra storage, room darkening shades/curtains, brand new mini fan, lamps, mirror, chair/s, extra blankets/multiple pillows to choose from, hamper, luggage rack, remotes, extra sheets, and more…..) All the comforts of most homes! Full Kitchen/Open Living Room: The Loft kitchen is a large open kitchen amply stocked for longer stays. (ALL NEW) Large double door refrigerator w/ice maker & cold water, electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, dishes (ceramic & plastic), glassware, silverware, bakeware, lots of storage, assorted coffees/tea, k-cups, sugar, olive oil, aluminum foil, storage bags, S & P, blender, electric kettle, hot chocolate packs, apple cider (for the fall,) cleaning items, paper towels, kitchen towels, tea bags, spices, new pots & pans, taco shell holders, flatscreen in living area (total of 3 flatscreens in the Loft) children’s plates/bowls, and so much more….. Bathroom: Oversized bathroom w/stackable washer/dryer - ALL BRAND NEW! No charge for guests. There are also “grab” bars for tub walls if you need a little help in the shower! Laundry pods, dryer sheets, lots of towels, shower gel, mini soaps, shampoo/conditioner, individually wrapped minature toothpaste & toothpaste in case you’ve forgotten your own, tissues, toilet paper, hairdryer, make-up towels, etc…. 12x18 beautiful deck. We just purchased furniture from the local Mennonites 3/2025. We purchased from them last year and their workmanship needs no explaining. When the weather is nice, sunny and sunset nights, it’s a great place to have your breakfast/lunch or dinner on the deck, or just a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or just look at the amazing sunsets and sunrises that we have! Who’s welcome at The LOFT? EVERYONE! We just ask that you respect our home, few rules, and take care of it like you would your own! Thank you! NO PARTIES ALLOWED. WE ASK THAT YOU ALWAYS USE THE RAILINGS. Please note there are 19 steps to get to the LOFT. Note: The Loft is very well stocked for when guests are at The Loft. Guest access Main vehicle can park in front of the garage on the RIGHT side which is right next to the LOFT stairs to make it very convenient for guests. I am more than happy to park in front of main house during a guests stay! The left side of the garage MUST ALWAYS BE LEFT UNBLOCKED. Thank you! If there is a 2nd vehicle, this vehicle can park behind 1st guests vehicle, on the grass next to the stairs, at the top of the grass to the right of the driveway or in the cul-de-sac in front of our home. There should not be more than 2 vehicles! Thank you! Susan & Rick Other things to note IMPORTANT! Before booking, please read our Cancellation Policy carefully. If you book & leave early, please refer to the Cancellation Policy before contacting Air BnB. Thank you! The few Loft Rules are To Make Life Easier For Everyone - WE ASK THAT YOU READ BEFORE BOOKING & ACKNOWLEDGE. TY! Just a few things to make life simple - Thank you! -ONLY registered paid guests are allowed to stay at the loft! NO exceptions! If registered guest leaves early, you CANNOT leave “friends,” “family,” behind as you are responsible for them & their actions. -If you bring extra people, (even for 1 night,) guests must ask host before hand! -Air BNB only covers ONLY registered guests, so this is for guests & hosts protection. TY ********************************************************* -SMOKING, VAPING/DRUG USE: NONE of the above are ALLOWED INSIDE THE LOFT OR ON THE PROPERTY - THE SMOKE DETECTORS WILL GO OFF! PLEASE CONFINE SMOKING TO OFF PROPERTY TY! (WE HAVE ALREADY HAD THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO OUR PROPERTY.) WE ASK THAT YOU RESPECT THESE RULES!! ********************************************************* PETS: Unfortunately dogs are no longer allowed. We are HUGE animal lovers, however past guests dogs caused major furniture damage (& more,) & it wasn’t reported. PLEASE DO NOT SNEAK IN ANIMALS. Our own dogs are not allowed in the LOFT! ********************************************************* Making it nice & simple!😊 1. Leaving THE LOFT, please remove ALL trash inside/out & put in large green trash bins next to mailbox at end of driveway. Do NOT leave on deck or put at bottom of stairs. We may not see it right away! Garbage pick-up/WEDNESDAY mornings! Please dispose/take all food/drinks that you may have brought. TY! 2. Before leaving, please put anything WET inside washer/close lid. Pull all bedding to bottom of bed-I’ll take care of everything else! 3. Short stay (couple days)-dishes can go in dishwasher/close door. Longer stay-please put dishes in dishwasher (if any used & turn on.) Pods under sink. If you use the stove, please lay tinfoil underneath when you cook. (There is tinfoil presently.) Cleaning the stove can take hours - we just ask that you clean up after yourself and any messes that are made. TY! 4. The Loft is fully stocked. We do this so our guests feel “at home, & don’t have to rush out upon arriving.” Please do not take anything that doesn’t belong to you, including food, hangers, TP, kitchen items, etc…These items are for ALL our guests convenience. TY! We have enough in the LOFT to help you get settled in. For additional needs, Walmart & Ingles are a short 3 miles from the LOFT. 5. We ask that you put EVERYTHING back the way you found it. This makes it easier for taking care of The Loft & for when our next guests arrive. We ask very little of our guests as we don’t believe you should have to “work” when you’re away from home. We just ask that you take care of our property, and leave things the way you found them. 6. Please check when leaving The Loft & make sure you have every-thing you came with. Iphone, laptops, IPad/chargers, clothing, jewelry, etc… Unfortunately mailing back items at this time is not possible. 7. When leaving the Loft, please turn off ALL lights, TV’s, close refrigerator, UNPLUG ALL kitchen countertop appliances please - this is for safety reasons in case of a power surge during a storm which Eastern Tennessee is known for.
