Niksen Vacation Home

Welcome to our holiday home "Niksen" in Treseburg in the Harz Mountains. We are Peter and Lillian, we love to travel and are avid airbnb users. We are also happy to travel to the Harz Mountains and would like to offer you the opportunity to stay in our cozy four walls and enjoy the "Niksen". The space The holiday home has 3 floors (ground floor, first floor and top floor) and can accommodate a total of 8 people. In addition, up to 2 small children up to 2 years can be added to an extra bed/travel cot. On the ground floor there are 2 bedrooms (with a 1.60 m and a 1.80 m wide double bed) and a bathroom with shower and toilet. A hallway in the entrance area connects the bathroom and bedroom. On the upper floor is the kitchen, living and dining area and a small guest toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped. The living area has a sofa and a small library. The upper floor is to be considered as a whole. The rooms are open, so that a spacious common room can be found here. There are also 2 bedrooms in the attic, one of which is a connecting room. These rooms are therefore best suited for a family with 2 children (or 3 children with an extra bed). Of course, 2 couples who know each other well could also stay there. The double beds are 1.80 m and 1.40 m wide. Upstairs is also a bathroom with shower, toilet and bath. The house has a spacious garden with areas left wild. Above, the property borders directly on the forest, from where hiking trails can be reached directly. A large terrace is directly accessible from the dining area, so that meals can also be taken outside in the warm seasons. Other things to note Please note: The Price ist NOT an all inclusive Price for 8 people. An additional charge will be applied for each extra person. The house is situated on a mountain slope. This has many advantages (sunny position, view of the valley) but also a disadvantage. The driveway is quite steep and can certainly be compared to narrow, steep roads in the Alps. The driveway should therefore only be used by experienced drivers and at their own risk. 1-2 parking spaces are located directly at the house (1x carport). 2 other parking spaces are located on a lower level, which are a little easier to reach. A van or mobile home cannot pass through the driveway. It is advisable to walk to the entrance to the house beforehand. Parking is available in the village within walking distance. If you cannot use the driveway, your luggage would have to be carried up to the house. This is about 50 m from the road and requires physical activity ;-). In WINTER, the driveway can only be used on frost-free and snow-free days. This should definitely be considered when booking. :-) On snowy days or when it is slippery, the car has to stop below. The small town of Treseburg has a few restaurants and cafés, but the nearest shops are in Blankenburg or Thale - each about 10 minutes away by car. The city of Thale levies a guest contribution for its visitors, which we as landlords have to accept on behalf of the city. From April to October it is 3 euros per night for adults and 1.50 euros for children aged 6 and over. From November to March the charges are 2 euros and 1 euro respectively. This contribution has to be paid in addition to the AirBNB fees. This contribution includes the use of local public transport and discounts at some institutions, restaurants and leisure events.
