Roomy flat in the Forest of Dean with Lofty views
Description
Recently described as a hug of a home, come rest and relax in our holiday home. There is easy access to miles of beautiful walks in the Forest of Dean right from your front door. The area is popular for walking, mountain biking, SUPs, canoe hire and wild swimming. There is easy access to the River Wye for some stunning wild swims only a 20 minute walk through the village. There are 3 pubs, 2 churches, a hairdressers, a doctors surgery, a chippy and the excellent village shop with post office. The space This is a 2 bedroomed apartment on one level with access straight from the main road. However, it is not wheel chair friendly as the main living area is one step lower than the kitchen area where you first enter the apartment. We have a second 2 bedroomed apartment next door should you wish to book accommodation for 4 couples. Sadly we do not have a garden, however the views from both bedrooms are beautiful and tranquil and walks into the surrounding woods lead from right outside the front door. There are many beautiful walks in and around Lydbrook. One of these circumnavigates our resident Beavers, I beleive they recently had babies and so now there are 6 Beavers. The main living area contains an extendable dinning room table with 4 chairs, a sofa, an arm chair, 2 bean bags and sideboard with games puzzles and books. We also have a smart TV and WiFi in this area. The main bedroom has a King Size bed with 2 locally designed bedside lamps shades from "Love the Lampshade". These were designed to compliment the stunning views of Upper Lydbrook and its forested valley. There is a wardrobe and vanity table with lamp. Iron and ironing board and hairdryer can be provided on request. Huge windows with deep windowsills offer a fantastic view of the Alpine like forested Valley. A perfect window seat to watch the changing of the seasons. The second bedroom has a double bed. There is a small hanger stand and 1 small bedside chests of draws, a lamp and a cheval mirror. The second bedroom also has large windows with deep windowsill to view the village. An additional mattress can be provided to place in the lounge on request should you need to squeeze an extra person in on special occasions. I therefore charge an £20 to cover the extra laundry service for a 3rd set of bed linen. The kitchen should be almost as well equipped as your kitchen at home. If you do find something is missing you only need to ask and I will probably have spare in my flat above as I do love a bit of catering. There is a washing machine and a drying rack and there is a fairly substantial de humidifier running that helpfully dries a washing load of clothes easily over night. There is a tall slimline fridge freezer, an electric hob and fan assisted oven. There is a microwave, kettle, and coffee machine. There are saucepans, baking trays, flan tins, lasagne dishes ramekins, bowls, whisk, jugs and scales should you decide to prepare a 3 course banquet on your holiday. We are lucky enough to have a large secure basement underneath our flats where we can store several bikes and equipment if needed with a dehumidifier and drying racks and hosepipes and cleaning materials for bikes and charging points for Ebikes. We have ample parking both on road and off road on our ample private driveway for atleast 2 vehicles. We also have an EV charging point for guests use (charges apply). Guest access The Apartment is accessed from a private front door on the main road with parking right outside the front door. There is additonal private off road parking with an EV charging point by prior arrangement. There is a key code safe on the front of the building should you wish to arrive out of hours and not require us to greet you or show you around. All we would ask is that you make sure you remember to put the key back in the safe when you leave. We happily accept pets in the apartment. All we would ask is that you do not allow them on the beds. We can provide extra fluffy blankets for your fur babies if you have forgotten to bring them with you. There are also treats, dog towels, pooh bags and a selection of dog beds available. Other things to note If you would like basic provisions arranged for your arrival, we will happily put together a hamper of items from our local shop. Just let us know what you would like and we will do our best to source it. We will require you to settle for this service upfront and I will send you an invoice privately. I am also happy to bake cakes for your arrival or if you have a special event during your stay. 2 days notice is required for this service. If you are a keen cold water swimmer then there are opportunities to swim in a private lake in Woolaston, near Lydney, it has the Theka Cafe for homemade cakes and hot drinks. Just message me for details or look for posts "Court Farm Lakes and Cafe" on FB.
