Experience a unique blend of history and modern luxury in our beautifully renovated WW2 Nissen Hut. Nestled within the tranquil grounds of The Woods at Oakley, this iconic structure has been meticulously transformed into a 5-star accommodation, offering guests an unforgettable stay in a picturesque woodland setting. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a quiet retreat, the Nissen Hut provides a unique and memorable accommodation experience. The space The Nissan Hut sits within the beautiful Woods at Oakley Estate, offering guests access to 16 acres of private woodland. Enjoy peaceful walks through hidden corners of the woods, tie a ribbon on the wishing tree, find the secret fairy doors, relax on the woodland swing, play in the 'Pixies’ Playground', or watch the sunset from 'The Perch', a giant seat up in the trees. You may also meet our miniature Shetland pony and other resident animals during your wanders. The Nissen Hut is situated in between our house 'The Oak Barn' and 'The Mess' which is used for storage. It has a private driveway and can accommodate up to four cars. The Nissen Hut was converted from an army building and has been stylishly decorated to reflect its military origins. It has all the comforts of home, with underfloor heating and a wood burner to keep you cosy in the winter. There is a woodstore by the back door full of logs from our woods, please do help yourself. One thing we are not short of is wood! There’s a secluded patio and garden with stunning countryside views, perfect for relaxing. You’ll find a gas BBQ and comfortable patio furniture where you can unwind and watch the sun set. The tap water is pristine, it comes from our bore hole which taps into the Stonehenge aquifer which is now sold as spring water. It also makes for a super relaxing bath! We are also in a protected international dark sky area so don't forget to look up at night as the stars are spectacular! However we recommend you bring a car as the house is in a rural location, with no amenities in walking distance. Guest access We’ve created a lovely, secluded garden area for you to enjoy, and we’ve chosen not to fence the end so you can fully enjoy the beautiful view. You’re very welcome to explore the woods, but we kindly ask that you access them via the back door of the Nissen Hut, not through our garden. Other things to note The Woods at Oakley hosts enchanting woodland weddings during the summer, and the Nissen Hut is the accommodation for the wedding venue. But don’t worry when you book with us through Airbnb, there won’t be a wedding taking place during your stay. You can rest assured you’ll have the space completely to yourselves to relax and explore!
