The room has one large + comfy Queen Size Bed & a TV! Please Note: Some of our Queen Private Rooms are located in our Annex Building on Bartol St, just 1.5 blocks from the main building. The Annex offers a quieter, more laid-back experience—perfect if you're looking to escape the late-night noise from Broadway St. The Annex has its own kitchen & cheaper laundry facilities; you'll still have 24/7 access to everything at the main building, including our front desk, lounge, and communal events. The space There are five single occupancy bathrooms on each floor of the main building, each with complimentary organic shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. We provide a complimentary hair dryer and towels in the room. We also have a free sauna on the top floor! Our Grand Ballroom is the heart of the hostel where people play music, make friends and unforgettable memories, fall in love with the city and each other, and raise glasses in celebration. The ballroom, where musicians are always invited to play, has a pool table, ping pong table, digital arcade area, books, games, and complimentary tea throughout the day. We also have a designated quiet "digital nomad" work space. We provide free wi-fi throughout the hostel. Just off of the ballroom we have a fully equipped kitchen that is open 24 hours a day for you to use. We provide a guest fridge for you to store food, liquor, whatever you want! Every morning in the ballroom we offer a free breakfast that consists of bagels, fresh fruit, organic oatmeal, yogurt, OJ, coffee and tea. We invite guests to help cook, but of course you don’t have to cook to eat! After participating in our nightly activity, such as our famous Pub Crawl or Curry & Comedy, you can get comfortable in our funky dorm rooms or cozy private rooms. And if you have the time, hop on our “hostel on wheels” for a famous Green Tortoise Adventure Travel trip to Yosemite, Baja, Alaska and other US National Parks or enjoy a discount on a local tour! These are just a few of the reasons the Tortoise has become a legend. In our Annex building for Queen Private Rooms, we have a beautiful patio on the third floor with a gorgeous view of the Bay and the Bay Bridge. Guest access All guests have 24 hour access to the ballroom, kitchen and internet lounge! No curfews here :) During your stay We have 24-hour front desk staff that is always happy to help with directions, recommendations or even just to exchange travel stories! Other things to note One thing to be aware of is that we are known as a very social hostel--it isn't unheard of for our guests to have loud parties in our ballroom. We would love to have you stay here, but we also understand that that environment isn't right for everyone. Each guest much show a government issued photo ID from outside of the Bay Area. We do not host anybody living in the Bay Area. Proof of travel may be required.
