Description

Our house was build in 1912 in an old English style. Our leafy neighborhood is filled will these old-styled villa's and is very peaceful and beautiful. The central location of this house enables us to lead a full life. The train to downtown Amsterdam is 20 minutes and Utrecht 15. Coming home to our spacious and characteristic house is just as nice as going out. The space Our house is a 'two houses under one roof' which means that we have neighbors on one side directly. We have a very good understanding with them. The ground floor starts with a hallway that goes to the kitchen and the living room. Both the kitchen and the living room open up to our garden. In the Garden is a small home office which has a separate entrance from the street and is not part of the home exchange. We use it for storage during the exchange. We like the fact that no one can look into our garden, it gives us much privacy. The first floor has the master bedroom, the babyroom, the girl's bedroom, the bathroom and a separate toilet. there is a safety fence for the baby above the stairs. The girl's bedroom has a large balcony with a lot of sunshine and it overlooks the garden. The second floor has the boy's bedroom, the guestroom fitted for two, the second shower bathroom and the laundry room. We love having guests over and have equipped our house to this. We have 3 grown-up bikes and three kids bicycles that you can use (and also all kind of bicycle seats for baby's and children). The house and the neighborhood is well fitted for small kids, just as we have. We are quite careful that our kids do not damage our house and will ask this also from our guests. Our guests tell us we have a lovely home with a good spirit. Guest access The whole house is yours, except for the 'Studio' in the garden, our home office. We will close it during your stay (so it will not be used by anyone else while you will be staying over). Other things to note We are active at home exchange and have several great exchanges with the US, Germany and France. We also had a great experience with AirBnB unfortunately we do not have any recommendations on this site yet. Some of the reviews: Family from France: "We were fortunate to live in Helge's house for two weeks. Their home is really charming: this is an old house in which we feel really good and we were able to rest and enjoy our family. She is very big and very comfortable, everything is there to make us feel good. Our kids loved discovering the pretty rooms they would like the same! Like the garden, everything is there for us to enjoy: toboggan, swing, trampoline ... but also a nice playground for the older ones. In short, the house is the place in which we loved to be, enjoy, rest, in peace and comfort. We felt so good that sometimes we just wanted to stay and enjoy!" Family from the USA: "Their house was a great mix of vintage and modern, as the house itself is a charming 100 years of age (approximately), but the kitchen and bathroom have modern comforts. The house was quite clean and tidy and well-stocked with toys. It was a large house by European standards, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, a spacious open living and dining area with high ceilings overlooking a fabulous private garden with in-ground trampoline and swing set. The location was in a lovely village. The train station was a short walk away, and we quickly adopted the Dutch custom of taking the family bikes to the AMAZING market in the town center. Just thinking about the food there makes me hungry. Lots of nice restaurants in the town as well. Twenty minutes on the train takes you to all Amsterdam has to offer, which is quite a lot. We had the trip of a lifetime, with museums, concerts, world class restaurants, and general sightseeing and people watching along the historic canals."
