Our goal was to create a cozy and quiet place to relax in or as a home base for checking out the area. Most of Lancaster Co. is less than a 30 min. drive away. A cafe, pizza shop and ice cream shop (the best!) are about 1/2 mile away. Many more are close by in the town of Ephrata or just a few miles farther in the town of Lititz-home of Wilbur chocolate. You will have your own space in our home, but separated by a locked door. There is a private entrance w/keypad. Code is changed for each guest Walk up 4 steps (the only steps) to the entrance door. Inside, you'll find the living/dining room - shared only by those in your group. In this room you will find a coffee maker, microwave and an air fryer to give you the opportunity for some cooking (not a full kitchen). And no dishes to wash! You may use either paper plates and cups (provided), or glass dishes (provided). Place dirty dishes and any waste liquid or food in the cute galvanized laundry tub and I'll wash them as needed or after you're gone. There is a gazebo by the side of the house. Please feel free to use it. While staying at our house, please feel free to communicate! We try to greet each guest upon arrival, but that's not always possible. You may text us anytime or come to our door - we're usually home. We are usually a quiet neighborhood within an active farming community. There is a small community park within walking distance where you can often catch a softball, soccer or lacrosse practice or game. Close by is a pizza shop, Stonehouse Cafe that serves an excellent Chai Latte and Fox Creamery where you can grab lunch and the best ice cream around. For the nature lovers, Middle Creek Wildlife Area is only minutes away, with hiking trails and a museum. A visit to the Ephrata Cloisters will fill you in on the history of Ephrata. And if it's Friday, you'll definitely want to visit Green Dragon, where farmers, and others, have been selling their produce and other creations - baked goods, crafts, furniture and more since 1932. Then there's the town of Lititz with dozens of shops to stroll through. Don't forget to visit the Wilbur Chocolate store and take home some delicious Wilbur Buds. Then pop across the street to Oola Bowls and treat yourself to a refreshing bowl of fresh and frozen fruit. Follow that up with a visit and tour through Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, the first commercial pretzel bakery and oldest pretzel baking family in the country. And so much more!
