Lake Lookout Guest Cottage Waterfront private guest cottage located on over 3 acres of land on Lake Lookout Shoals is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet lakefront escape. Enjoy the lake views from the comfort of your own 1,000 square foot cottage. The Guest Cottage is located off of the main channel with 235 feet of shoreline! Spend your time indoors, outdoors, in the lake, on the beach or in the canoe - something for everyone! Come visit us and enjoy a bit of "Lake Life!" The Guest Cottage includes two bedrooms, full bath with tub/shower combo, living room, fully furnished kitchen and separate laundry room. The Master Bedroom has a queen-size bed, ceiling fan and a flat screen Roku television. The Master is very spacious with a dresser, armoire, luggage stand and a bookcase. Bedside tables each have a reading lamp with USB charging ports for your devices. All the comforts of home! The Bunk Room has a bunk bed that is twin size over full size. The upper twin-size bed is rated for 200-pound capacity. The bunk bed has a total weight capacity of 450 pounds. The Bunk Room also has a spacious dresser and a large mirror if you need an extra spot to get ready in the morning or after a day on the lake. The fully appointed kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The host loves to bake and cook so in addition to a full set of glasses, dishes, silverware and cookware the kitchen also includes bake ware, measuring utensils and a 5-speed hand mixer. Additional items are a coffee maker that brews full pots of coffee, tea kettle, blender and toaster. We also furnish the kitchen basics: ground coffee to get you started, coffee filters, tea bags, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and sugar. Under the sink you will find basic cleaning supplies and some dishwasher cleaning pods. The laundry room has a full size washer and dryer, a utility sink and some wall mounted drying hooks. We furnish a small supply of laundry detergent pods, dryer sheets and hangers. Other amenities in the Lake Lookout Guest Cottage include internet, two flat screen televisions (located in the living room and Master Bedroom), Roku and HD TV antennae and a DVD player. Outside you have your own front deck to enjoy the water view. Head down to the boat dock to view the amazing Lake Lookout Shoals sunsets. Enjoy the fire pit area in front of your private front deck and we supply the s'more fixins for your first night. Guests have a dedicated covered carport parking area. We are conveniently located near the I-40 and I-77 corridor. Off-road racing more your thing? - Moto40 MX Park is 8 miles east - Brushy Mountain Motor Sports is 25 miles north - HorsePower Park is 45 miles west Guests have access to the beach area (dependent upon the water level of the lake), boat dock with swim platform and a 16-foot canoe. Perfect set-up if you bring your own boat or kayak. Two public boat ramps are located close by (2.1 miles and 9 miles drive away). Beach and boat dock are shared use with owners. There is trailer and RV parking available on the property. You will enjoy your private Guest Cottage on 3+ acres. Owners live on site in a separate home on the property and are available to socialize and/or assist with any special requests or questions. Lake Lookout Shoals Information Lake Lookout is a 1,300-acre lake formed in 1915 when Duke Energy put the Lake Lookout Dam in use. It is the quiet lake between Lake Hickory and Lake Norman. With 37 miles of shoreline, nearly 40% of the shoreline is designated for preservation. The 1,300 acres provide plenty of space for water skiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, pontooning and boating. The many coves and arms are perfect for kayaking, canoeing and SUP. Although Lake Lookout is smaller than some of its neighboring lakes there are no restrictions on boat size or speed on the lake. For fishing folks, the lake abounds with many species of fish: spotted bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, striped bass, crappie, walleye, bream, blue gill, yellow perch and catfish. As guests on our property, you will not need to purchase a NC fishing license if you are fishing from our boat dock or shoreline. This is great if you want to do some quick fishing with your family. If you hit the lake for fishing you will need to purchase a NC fishing license ($9.00 for a 10-day basic license if you are a NC resident, $20.00 for a 10-day license of you are a non-resident). Your private vehicle is really the only option here. No public transportation available. This property is NOT handicap accessible. We joke that if you are not walking up hill when you are here then you must be walking downhill. There are very few "flat" areas to the 3+ acres - part of life in the Piedmont Area of NC, the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains! There is a small gas station and a fabulous ice cream shop country store 3 miles from the guest cottage. A local grocery store is less than a 5-mile drive.
