Searching for a dreamy rural respite from the hustle and bustle, in a central location within minutes of everything Sonoma County has to offer? This very private cottage sits in one corner of a 30-acre ranch property, at the end of a country road adjacent to a creek, with several acres of separation from the main residence. The place features a full kitchen, fireplace, BBQ, outdoor table, rocking chairs and a productive tomato plant for those who visit in the summer. It has a secure gated entrance, and the cottage is surrounded by trees and wild blackberry bushes. You'll be surrounded by nature and wildlife, with frequent visits from deer, wild turkeys, red tail hawks and kites. Two friendly horses graze in the pasture across the drive. When you’re relaxed and ready to explore, you’ll quickly realize Petaluma is in the center of all the action. This is why Travel & Leisure Magazine named the city one of the “Nation’s Top Ten Getaways Near a Major City.” • Drink wine. This location is in the center of wine country, making it the ideal home base for day trips to Sonoma and Napa country wineries. It’s about 20 minutes from the downtown Sonoma historic square. • Enjoy nature. Enjoy kayaking or a sunset cruise right here on the Petaluma River, or visit the beautiful redwood groves in Northern California. Drive a few miles to walk on the sandy or rocky beaches of the incredible Sonoma Coast, or relax on the pebbly shores of the Russian River. • Explore the big city. A 32-mile drive will get you to San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge and all the incredible sights and experiences one of the world’s greatest cities has to offer. • Chill in a quaint historical town. A quick jaunt to the historic downtown Petaluma is a destination of its own. You’ll find historic buildings, antique galleries, farm-to-table cuisine and lots of live music. If you’re lucky, the town might be hosting its annual Butter and Eggs parade or another heritage, music or art event. The cottage is all yours! You'll have access to the entire home and yard, and you're welcome to explore the lower part of the property. We request that you not drive or walk up the hill to our residence, since we have dogs who take their jobs seriously (they don't bite, but they do bark and one will jump on cars and people), and I also work from home. Our home is several acres away from the rental cottage, and we will leave you to enjoy your vacation unless you need something! Our neighbors are many acres away, and very nice! The only request they have is that our visitors don't drive more than 5 miles per hour on the access road to protect horses and pets. We offer unlimited high-speed WiFi, two smart TVs (no cable), two DVD players and a collection of movies for you to watch, and lots of games for the family to play. We have heating/AC to make your stay comfortable. There's no garage or storage space - the home is set up for extended vacations with everything you need already in it!
