Welcome to our home! You’ll be staying in a private room within a duplex apartment in a 125-year-old brownstone on the Bed-Stuy/Bushwick border. The space features exposed brick, an open-plan layout, and a cozy, lived-in feel. You’ll be sharing the apartment with 4 others—your hosts (Paolo and Ria), Paolo's partner, and one other Airbnb guest. We’re a diverse, queer household, and we ask that you treat our home with the same care and respect you’d expect in your own. The space Please enjoy the space thoughtfully, treating it with care and respect as if it were your own. Kitchen: Shared among 5 people (including you) and stocked with essentials like a toaster, air fryer, blender, and cookware. Due to limited counter space, please check with us before bringing any personal appliances. Be sure to clean up promptly after use so the space stays ready for everyone. Bathroom: You’ll be sharing a designated bathroom with just one other guest. Please keep it clean and tidy, and be mindful of shared use. Living + dining area: A cozy, open-plan space shared by all—perfect for casual meals or relaxing. Guest access You'll be staying on the parlor floor of the apartment, which includes your bedroom, designated bathroom (shared with one other Airbnb guest), and access to the shared kitchen, dining, and living areas. Please note: the steel cart next to the kitchen island is off-limits, as it contains Paolo’s personal kitchen items. During your stay You can message us in the app or reach out to the phone number provided. We'll try to get back to you as soon as we can! Other things to note **Important things to keep in mind: - You’re staying in our personal home—please treat it with care and respect. This is not a hotel. - Only the person who booked may stay. Do not book on behalf of someone else. - This booking is for one guest only. We cannot accommodate additional guests or visitors at any time, per NYC OSE regulations. - No pets unless explicitly pre-approved by the hosts. - Please clean up after yourself in all shared spaces. - Dishes should be washed promptly or placed in the dishwasher. Pots and pans must be hand-washed and cleaned immediately after use, so they’re ready for the next person. - Use the cutting board or dining table for food and drink prep. Avoid placing acids, coffee, red wine, or citrus directly on the white marble countertops. Wipe up any spills immediately. **Makeup & Linens: Please remove makeup before using towels or getting into bed. Stains are tough to clean and may lead to extra charges. Thanks for helping us keep things fresh for everyone! **Other things to consider: - There is no curfew, but quiet hours are in effect from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM. - Be considerate of roommates’ sleep and work schedules. - Keep music, calls, and conversations at a respectful volume during quiet hours. **Appliances + utilities: - Do not bring additional kitchen appliances without prior approval—counter space is limited. - Turn off the air conditioner when leaving your room for more than an hour. - Be mindful of electricity and water use—this is a shared home. **Travel planning + clear communication: - Please book only after confirming your flights or major travel plans. - Share your arrival and departure details at least 2–3 days before check-in so we can coordinate smoothly. Unfortunately, we can only accommodate check-in no later than 10pm. - Notify us as soon as possible if your plans change. **Recycling – required by NYC: - Blue bin (no liner): clean paper, cardboard, cartons. - Blue bin (clear liner): rinsed plastic containers, cans—no food or liquid residue.
