The single-family home is located on a private peninsula with a grassy yard and few neighbors. This updated vacation rental has a full kitchen, full bath, two bedrooms and is located down a private gravel driveway conveniently located off the highway. The space Relax, unwind, and fish at this unique property located on the Little South Branch of the Pere Marquette River, a National Scenic River. Located within thousands of acres of the Manistee National Forest, the “River Haus” is located on a private peninsula with 270-degree views of the river. There is over 1/4 mile of river frontage, accessed by a private driveway, parking next to the home, and few neighbors. The yard is relatively flat, peppered with beautiful trees, and covered with grass. The fire ring is perfect for bonfires and cooking, with the river just steps away. Fishing is good, depending on the time of year, with brown trout and steelhead being the most common species. Fishing season on this part of the river is from the last Saturday in April until September 30, and there are numerous other access sites within a few miles. The property includes a wraparound deck with two covered areas that are great for chilling and grilling. The home has windows on every wall, giving spectacular views of the river from any seat in the house. It has been recently updated with all modern amenities such as central heat, central air conditioning, dishwasher, microwave, and a great open kitchen space. There is a giant island countertop for eating, drinking, or playing, and a fully stocked kitchen. Ceiling fans are in every room, and when it gets colder you can choose to use the charming wood stove. There is Wi-Fi, a smart TV with 25 local stations coming from an antenna, and a DVD player with a small collection of movies. Each bedroom has a full bed, a queen bed, nightstand with outlets for charging, and large closets to unpack your belongings. The property is close to the grocery store, bait and tackle shops, gas stations and downtown Baldwin. Also nearby are miles of ORV trails, many swimming and fishing lakes, and all-sports Big Star Lake among others. There is a canoe, fishing poles and outdoor seating for the guests to use free of charge. Baldwin is a 90-minute drive from Grand Rapids and Traverse City. It is a 45-minute drive from beautiful Lake Michigan, roughly 3.5 hours from Detroit and 4 hours from Chicago. Guest access Your stay includes full use of the entire home, as well as access to the entire ¼ mile of river frontage. There are many access spots into the river, but the rivers’ depth can vary by 2 feet. When the river is low, the shallow spots are roughly 12-18 inches deep, perfect for wading. In the winter months the 1/4-mile driveway is not plowed. If there is excessive snow accumulation you may need 4x4 or AWD
