‘The Penthouse ‘ enjoys truly stunning, expansive views of the Bay and the Mourne Mountains. With its own private floor ‘The Penthouse’ is a well equipped, comfortable home from home which can accommodate 6- 8 people. It has a spacious entrance hall, 3 bedrooms- 2 en-suite, a family bathroom and a large open plan kitchen, living and dining area leading to a large balcony and the fantastic vista of the spectacular Dundrum Bay and Mourne Mountains. This unique place has a style all its own. The space With its own private floor ‘The Penthouse’ is a well equipped, comfortable home from home which can accommodate 6- 8 people. It has a spacious entrance hall, 3 bedrooms- 2 en-suite, a family bathroom and a large open plan kitchen, living and dining area leading to a large balcony and the fantastic vista of the spectacular Dundrum Bay and Mourne Mountains. -Entrance HaLL Spacious entrance hall. You’ll find a cupboard for coats and shoes directly inside the door on the left. Please remember to remove ALL outdoor footwear on entering the apartment. There is a shoe shelf just outside the door. From the hall there are two corridors where the bedrooms and family bathroom are situated. Going right as you enter you will find the family bathroom, a kingsize bedroom and a master kingsize en-suite bedroom. Going left you will find the Bunk Room, which has two double bunks and the canoe bunk room with 2 large single bunk beds. Straight ahead through the glass door takes you into the kitchen, dining and living areas. You’ll need to pause here to take in the incredible views! Here’s some more detailed information on ‘The Penthouse’ -Family Bathroom with shower over a large bath. There is plenty of storage including a hanging pole and hangers over the bath for outdoor gear and wetsuits. Have a soak in the bath after a trek to Dundrum Castle or hang your wetsuits after a day on the beach or jumping off the quay and put wet dirty foot wear and outdoor gear to be dry again for tomorrow! -3 spacious bedrooms: The three bedrooms including: • king size master bedroom with ensuite, bedside lockers and wardrobe • Double bedroom with wardrobe, 2x chest of drawers and bedside cabinet • The Bunk Room has a small separate room with 2x large single canoe bunks and storage with 2x double bunk beds (a double high bunk with double futon underneath) in the main bedroom leading to an en-suite shower room. There is a fan in the single bunk room for extra ventilation please keep it on at night. Bed linen and towels are all provided. A hair dryer can be found in the left bedside unit in the master bedroom and double bedroom. Please let us know if you’ve any allergies to feather duvets and pillows. -Open plan lounge, dining and kitchen Spacious Lounge area with comfy seating, TV/DVD, Apple TV, reading materials, games and don’t forget that amazing view that’s forever engaging and changing! Dining Area with extra long table, bench, stools and chairs Kitchen all fully equipped with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dish washer, washer/drier and filtered water tap Large Balcony with table, chairs and BBQ Guest access As you drive into the Quay development a main car park on the left will take you to the largest block which is a lemon coloured building to the right in the corner of the carpark. There is plenty of private parking available just outside the building. There are 3 steps to get into the main building. The Penthouse has its own private 3rd floor and can be accessed on the day of your booking anytime after 3pm. However if you would like access earlier please let me know and we will do our best to accommodate this. Other things to note RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUR STAY There is an endless array of things to do in the area or you can just sit back and enjoy the view! Here’s a few recommendations: WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE: • A browse around the market on a Sunday morning (Gaelic football pitches at the entrance to Dundrum) followed by brunch at the Blue Bay Café. • A picnic at Dundrum castle to savour the bay and mountain views. • Walk to Murlough Nature Reserve (walk out of the village and take the last road down to the bridge at Keel Point which takes you right through to the boardwalk for the dunes and beach). If you are a National Trust member you can access the car park on the spit for free or £5 if not! WITHIN 5 MILES: • Visit Tollymore Forest Park to enjoy walks in the forest and mountains. • Walk or cycle around Castlewellan castle, lake, maze and arboretum. • Visit Seaforde Butterfly Farm, maze and coffee shop • A favourite with the kids, Funny Farm Adventures, with a maze, trampolines, barrel train, laser clay shooting and crazy golf. • Enjoy a wide range of outdoor activites through the Tollymore National Outdoor Centre including Canoeing, Rockclimbing, Abseiling, Coasteering, Abseiling, Hill Walking, Sea Kayaking, Archery and Mountain Biking with the Blue Lough Adventure Centre, Castlewellan Forest Park (028 4377 0714). WITHIN 10-15 MILES • Visit the beautiful Silent Valley Resevoir for picnic and walks • Take a day trip to Strangford Lough – the villages of Strangford and Portaferry are well worth a visit and have nice restaurants (try The Lobster Pot or The Cuan) (drive to Downpatrick and follow signs). You can take the ferry between Strangford and Portaferry so you can complete a full circuit of the Lough. There is an aquarium at Portaferry “Exploris” which makes for a nice family excursion • The National Trust have a beautiful property at Castleward, Strangford. The setting is magnificent. You can take tours of the house and/or enjoy the beautiful gardens. There is an adventure playground for children and you can also partake in canoeing, cycling and archery during the summer months. Mount Stewart, near Newtownards, also owned by the National Trust ,has a fabulous house to visit and stunning lake and gardens. WITHIN 20-30 MILES • In approximately 45 minutes you can be in Belfast. Enjoy a visit to the new Titanic Centre, peruse the city centre with the majestic city hall and its many shops and cafes – the Victoria Centre is well worth a visit. Also worth considering: a visit to Queen’s University and Botanic Gardens, a trip up to Stormont Buildings, an open top bus tour, the Belfast Zoo, and Belfast Castle for walks, parkland and eating. • Enjoy designer shopping at discount prices at The Outlet, Banbridge, Co. Down. WITHIN 100 MILES • Take a day trip to the North Antrim Coast – it’s a spectacular coastline with lovely beaches, walks etc. Cross the Carric-a-Rede rope bridge or walk the Giant’s Causeway. • The stunning Fermanagh lakes are within 2 hours drive perfect for boat trips and walks. • A trip to Dublin should not be missed.
