Little Gasparilla Island. Main house of 5-acre, beach-to-bay "old FL" estate. Bay in front, pristine beach in back. Very private, natural setting on the bay Florida Blueway KayakTrail and bordering Don Pedro nature preserve parkland. Kayaks & SUPs for exploring the bay, beach gear and games. Abundant birds, fish, shells, & wildlife. Manatee and dolphin are common. Accessible only by boat/water taxi. No stores, few people. 3 ensuite bedrooms plus a bunk bedroom with three singles The space The "Bay House" is the main residence of a 5-acre, 3-house compound on LITTLE GASPARILLA ISLAND that we call GasparillaGetaways. Islanders sometimes call it "the resort at the north end". The big Bay House is true to the "Old Florida" style with surround screen porch and surrounded by nature. The Bay House brings you the best of both water worlds: bay in front, beach in back. Swim, sunbathe, shell, and watch the sunsets from the white sand beach. Or watch the sunrise over the from the upper deck and after a day on the water watch sunset into the Gulf from that same deck. Enjoy the ever-changing bird, fish, and sea animal activity from the porch as the tides move in and out of the bay. Dock your boat right out front for easy access to sport fishing, sightseeing, or a waterfront meal at local destinations, or launch the kayaks to explore the nearby backwaters. Constructed of cedar, the house offers -Wraparound screened porch with dining and seating areas -Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams -Central kitchen/dining area -Two "living " areas for conversation or TV -Hardwood and tile floors -4 Bedrooms and 3.5 baths inside and an extra full outdoor bathroom under the house -Rooftop deck -Woodburning freestanding fireplace (we supply the logs) -Stove, Oven, Microwave -Dishwasher, double sink w/ garbage disposal -2 ref/fzrs -Toaster, Blender, Coffee Maker, Bean Grinder, Cappuccino Maker and Frother - Pressure Cooker, Crock Pot, Air Fyer, Kitchen Aide stand mixer -Smart TV to watch your streaming accounts (Netflix, Hulu, etc,) or our small family-friendly DVD collection (No Cable) - Starlink Internet -Washer and dryer -Grill (we supply the propane) -Beach canopy - Beach chairs Common areas and amenities included in the compound are the: -Outdoor Bistro dining/kitchen -Outdoor coffee/smoothie bar -Firepit -Kayaks and SUPs Note: - Dishwashing liquid soap and dishwasher detergent, laundry soap & dryer sheets, trash bags, coffee filters, propane, and firewood all are included. -We supply only limited quantities ("starters") of toiletries such as bath soap, shampoo, paper towels, and toilet paper. Please bring enough paper goods for your family. Guest access We also have two other rentals on the property, our Beach Cottage and Boat House. They each maintain total privacy, but have shared access to bonus amenities including: - Kayaks & a paddle boards - An outdoor grilling and dining area called, “The Bistro.” Note: each house has their own grill and outdoor dining area but the Bistro is a bonus shared space. -A smoothie & coffee bar with complimentary coffee. Other things to note Little Gasparilla Island is a bridge-less barrier island with no cars, stores or restaurants of any kind. It is only accessible by the local water taxi, or by personal or rented boat. It makes for a very private and quiet vacation, but it does require a little more planning. Make your a grocery list ahead of time , then pre-order and pick it up from the Placida Publix or Englewood Walmart. They are both just a few minutes drive from Eldred's Marina where the water taxi is based and you will park your car. There is plenty of room on the water taxi for all your belongings and groceries. For a less-stress option there is a grocery delivery service that will pick up your pre-ordered supplies and put them in the house for your arrival. If you don’t have a boat or aren’t renting one we highly recommend LGI Tiki Tours which will host custom tours to see dolphins, anchor and swim on a sandbar, or watch the sunset. Custom cruises are also available. The water taxi will drop you off at Dock #2, just south of the Bay House's front door. Handcarts will be waiting on the dock if you'd like to use them to easily push your items to the door. Refunds: We live on this beautiful island but won’t stick around in the event of a hurricane or Red Tide--and we don’t expect you to either! So, if those conditions exist, we will file an "extenuating circumstances" claim with AirBnB to help you get a full refund for any unused nights and for the AIRBNB fees.
