Look through the new shutters on to present day Main Street and imagine horse drawn carriages taking travelers to town or home. Children playing, laughing, a puppy following along. A vendor with produce or household goods for sale from the back of his wagon. Here is an escape from the hurry up life of today. Sit back, relax, have a cup of coffee. Make yourself at home. These rooms were originally the master bedroom suite of the lawyer and his wife who built this upper middle class home in the late 1800’s. The small kitchen was likely a dressing room or water closet. This apartment is private and away from the rest of the home. There’s an entry hall/foyer that is a common area access to all units. But other than that you are in your own cozy space located on the 2nd floor. There are three off street parking spot one for each unit. There is also parking on the street in front of the house. The neighborhood is walkable and safe. Dining and shopping is only a few blocks down Main St. There are many unique shops, magic, gifts, yoga, bakeries, and a farmer’s market in the summer. The highlight of the area is the Culbertson Mansion located about 3 blocks to the east. They offer tours and the site is on the Historic Register. The river front is about a block or so away. The Greenway is a path that runs along the river for over 5 miles. You can see wetlands with lots of birds and animals, fossil beds and watch the river stream by. There is a 3 night minimum stay during Kentucky Derby week, derby is the first Saturday in May.
