Description

Stunning home in central Cambridge, on a quiet residential street off Mill Road. Close to the best area in Cambridge for unique, independent shops and restaurants, it's a 10-15 minute walk to the historic colleges and city centre, and a similar distance to the train station. As it is our home, it is well-equipped with everything you will need for your stay. There is a luxurious jacuzzi bath and gorgeous architectural features. The space A newly refurbished Victorian townhouse with high ceilings, large bay windows, period features, lots of big, airy rooms and a beautiful sunny garden. It is designed for modern family living: there is a sound-proof glass wall between the lounge and the rest of the open plan ground floor, so adults can relax undisturbed while children play in another room. The house has a brand new, fully equipped eat-in kitchen with an instant boiling water tap, a large living room with a wood burner stove and a TV, an entire downstairs room for children to play board games/do arts and crafts in, a patio garden with an outdoor dining table, a BBQ and outside lighting, a digital piano, a downstairs WC and a deep, jacuzzi bath and shower bathroom. There are three bedrooms: one en-suite master bedroom with a king size bed in the loft and two large single bedrooms on the floor below. Each bedroom has a desk you can use for remote working. All recently decorated. The house also comes with high speed broadband wifi and ceiling fans are provided for hot weather. Birds and squirrels love our gravel garden and the crab apple tree we have planted there. There is a fantastic public swimming pool nearby (3 mins' walk, 3 pools including two for children) and on the top of the building (called Kelsey Kerridge), there is an amazing hot tub which has fantastic views out over Cambridge. We also really recommend Mill Road Cemetery, which is one of the undiscovered gems of Cambridge that only locals know about - it's an old and very atmospheric Victorian cemetery, now a beautiful nature reserve. Very close to the house. On top of all that, obviously you have all the colleges within a 15-20 minute walk, including King's College chapel. As for eating out, there is a large number of restaurants on your doorstep on Mill Road. Midsummer Common and the river Cam are also only a short stroll away. Other things to note Sadly we are not able to welcome guests with infants and toddlers/children under 4. Groups of adults who are not in a couple and are not related to each other (eg colleagues): please message before booking. Parking is on the street and costs £3 a day. Please note that when we let to three guests, it is normally let as a two bed house and we ask guests not to use our daughter’s bedroom (her room is the bedroom with the woodland wallpaper and four poster bed - see photos for details). If you wish to use all three bedrooms, please select that four people are coming so we can ensure her room is ready for you. Thank you.
