Get right off the beaten track and enjoy a relaxing break in this tranquil corner of North Norfolk. The cottage is in the grounds of Wolterton Park; 20 minutes drive to the coast and close to Weaver's and Marriott's Ways and Blickling and Mannington Estates. Once the village parsonage, this grade II listed building is over 500 years old, with many original features, but with added warmth, comfort and coziness. Guests will have sole use of the sun-trap terrace and well-stocked front garden. The space The guest accommodation is completely self-contained, with a front and side entrance. The rooms are centrally-heated and the sitting room and bedroom are large and south-facing, filled with light. All windows look out to the one-acre garden and surrounding field. A cot, highchair and baby toys are available on request. The building was originally the Wolterton parsonage, adjoined to a single storey village hall. In Victorian times it was extended and converted to three separate workers' cottages. The accommodation has many interesting, original features, such as the classic Norfolk tiled floor; modern amenities have been added sensitively. There are indications of the building's historical importance in its architectural details, including the original, unusual, brick Tudor stairway and doorway carvings. Guest access Guests will have sole use of the self-contained building which comprises a very large double bedroom with ensuite shower and loo, a sitting room with woodburning stove and sofa-bed, a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and stove and a downstairs cloakroom and loo. There is a front and side door to the guest accommodation. There is no washing machine, but guests are welcome to use the host's on request. The host's bath is available for baby bath-time and can be accessed on the upper floor when requested. Guests will have use of the front garden and terrace and there is a designated guest parking bay. Other things to note Wolterton Park is a private estate and Dairy Cottages is situated at the very end of the track, so no traffic noise, just the sound of birds and bees. Guest parking is on th right at the top of the track, then come through the gate and up the path to the house. The guest entrance is the far right-hand door. Firewood will be provided for the first night’s stay, but please note that guests will need to purchase wood for subsequent evenings. It is available at most local supermarkets.
