Mill House in the heart of West Penwith Cornwall

Mill House is situated at the head of a sub tropical valley attached to a 18th century mill which has a working water wheel. Mill house has its own entrance with a large patio which has a swing seat, and barbecue chairs/tables, this patio is strictly for the use of guests only, other areas ie the large lawn, pool and sauna are shared. We accept well behaved pets, but prefer them not to be left all day. We have a local family living next door, they will respect your privacy. The space On entering the house there is a 40' kitchen dinner slightly split level with a large wood burner. The kitchen is well equiped with a beautiful round table in the centre, the floor is made of elm from our own trees which were felled in a storm 30 years ago, this year for the first time the floor has been re-sanded and varnished bringing out the grain of the elm. There is a fridge/freezer with an ice dispenser, a dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine, and a wood burning stove for which we supply a reasonable amount of wood, there is even a well tuned piano. Leading off the kitchen up five steps is a spacious double bedroom. Upstairs to the first floor is a very large double bed/sitting room which gives the guest the feeling of being in the trees, in the early evening the sound of rooks roosting fills the air. On the landing is a single day bed which can be curtained off for privacy and a bathroom with a separate bath and shower. There are efficient oil fired radiators in every room. Through a door which is kept locked on the kitchen side is a workshop with a full size billiard table, guests are very welcome to play billiards but please be aware this is not part of our holiday let, but a workshop with machinery so definitely not suitable for unaccompanied children. Outside on the lawn is a lovely outdoor pool (not heated) which we open May/June, weather permitting, next to the pool is a sauna, this is meter operated £2 does approximately an hour there are full instructions. The lawn has a table and chairs if you wish to barbecue by the pool you are welcome, Guest access The access is down a bridle path, bumpy in places but on reaching the end, the valley opens up and becomes very tropical with banana plants. Guest park opposite to Mill cottage and take a few steps to the Mill house. Other things to note Airbnb have now incorporated their fee into my pricing this they will then deduct from me. The lane to the Mill house is bumpy and should be taken slowly. The Mill house has a stream running about 40' from its entrance this is not fenced off so please be aware when considering booking, young children need to be watched outside. We are dog friendly but prefer guests not to leave their dogs all day in the house, and please clear any dog mess from the lawn as it is used by young children. The pool is filled in May and emptied in October depending of course on the weather
