Other things to note We love our neighborhood and we hope you will too. It is such a walkable neighborhood and within 5 to 10 minute walk you are in the historic downtown Chula Vista with its great selection of Italian, American, Asian and Mexican restaurants. There are multiple restaurants and craft beer places and a delightfully cozy tavern and wine bar. There are many places to get your morning or afternoon coffee and snacks as well as quaint and unique shops along the street. If you are wanting your gym fix, the newly opened The Gym is located in this area. Memorial Park is centrally located on Third Ave where all the cafes, restaurants and shops are and it is perfect for a picnic or stroll. Our new Chula Vista Bay development is worth visiting. It is located on Chula Vista Bay and there is also an amazing park to the north of it with walking trails and great views of the bay and Coronado Island. I think you will be happily surprised at the beauty of the bay and all the new developments to enhance your stay such as the new bike/walking path which starts near the Chula Vista Nature Center (also a fun visit) and extends all the way around the bay over to Coronado Island. There is also wonderful kayaking around the bay and into the bird sanctuary. We are very conveniently situated so that you can drive to all the major tourist areas: San Diego beaches, Coronado Island, San Diego Zoo, Old Town in 15 to 20 minutes. The border is only about 15 minutes away so you are close to San Ysidro's Las Americas outlet mall and then the border into Tijuana. If you are commuting to work, the 805 freeway is about 3 minutes away and I-5 is only about 8 or 10 minutes! Otay Ranch area is a close 15 minute commute. We are also avid local hikers, so we can tell you all the local hikes in Chula Vista which are amazing and often not crowded at all. As you can probably tell, we love our city and we want you to have the best time here, so we would be happy to share any other information or tips with you.
