Right in the heart of St Ives lies this spacious, beautiful room, in a listed building that used to be a plumbing workshop. It has been in the same family for 5 generations and has just been sustainably converted, showing old plumbing graffiti and the original beams, granite walls & sash windows, as well as a Juliet balcony. Here you have everything St Ives has to offer right on your doorstep. Cafés & restaurants around the corner plus the harbour & beaches only a stone's throw away. The space The Old Workshop is a listed building, and we have tried to re-use and re-purpose as much as we can from the original plumbing workshop. We have also done all the work with the environment in mind, only using natural material and sustainable products. As you get into your room, you have coat hooks and a shoe stand behind the door, please make sure you leave all your outdoor clothes and shoes here. The bed is king size with a quality mattress which is slightly on the firm side rather than soft. In your room there is a worktop with a sink, where you will find a kettle so you can make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. There is also a small fridge and a cupboard with a cafetiere, cups, glasses, plates and cutlery. Please note that due to regulations there are no cooking facilities in this room. In the cupboard of the old telephone table you can find a first aid kit and a basket with cleaning products, should you need them. You have a table and two chairs as well as a sofa and a coffee table, where you can sit with a cuppa and plan your day. The room also has a wardrobe for your clothes and in the wardrobe is a hairdryer, an iron, ironing board and a fan for your use. Lots of light is let in by the two velux roof windows, but don't worry, they have electric blackout blinds. The old original sash windows do open, but only a little bit, for security reasons. There are also French doors opening to a Juliet balcony overlooking Trewyn Gardens. In the spacious bathroom there is a quality shower and Egyptian cotton towels, plus plenty of room where you can put your own toiletries. We have brand new infrared heaters in the ceiling and bathroom, these are programmed to keep a comfortable temperature in the room and will come on automatically when needed. Guest access The Old Workshop has some steps going up to the entrance. This entrance is for this room (no. 1) and another room to the right (no. 2). Inside your door there is a staircase going up to your room. A key safe is provided next to your door, where your key is kept. Everything in your room is for your use only. Other things to note Please be aware that the other room at The Old Workshop is directly underneath this room, so be mindful not to make too much noise late at night or early morning. Also, being in the town centre in a listed building with original single glaze windows, some noise from outside is to be expected.
