Description
The Groom house is a 3,000 square foot, two story Victorian built in 1876 and the lifelong home of Wisconsin artist Emily Groom (listed as a Milwaukee Historic property). Walking distance of the lakefront, the amazing Oriental Theater and an eclectic mix of some of the best restaurants in the city; and less than 2 miles from UWM, downtown and Summerfest grounds. A historic house in great location -- great for business travelers, families, and larger groups. The space Enjoy the large kitchen & pantry, restored antique pool table, a full house sound system, a great backyard with a gas grill, and working fireplaces. Parking for several cars, with two that can fit comfortably side by side (for easy access in and out and no need to street park). The house is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, linens, towels, hairdryer, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, etc. Guests have access to Apple TV and a blu-ray player/PS3 at the TV. Extra blankets and bedding are included. Games and books are available for your enjoyment. While there is no central AC, there is an upper bedroom AC unit in the master bedroom and fans for hot summer days. This area near the Lake is usually cooler and we have rarely needed AC. Guest access Entrance is through the rear door (from the backyard) via a key coded electric lock. You can get pretty much everywhere in the house, except the attic and a small office upstairs (which are locked). We also keep the garage locked, but there is plenty of parking in the driveway.
