Beautiful 16th century cottage in quiet rural spot yet close to village & amenities. Steeped in history, set in 5 acres of quiet woodlands & gardens. Decorated & furnished in neutral, calming tones for a restful stay. Cosy wood burner for winter nights , outside BBQ for summer evenings & alfresco dining. Onsite award winning Bakehouse onsite with wood fired oven so you can enjoy freshly baked bread during your stay or perhaps take part on one of the bread making classes on offer. The space The cottage is set in a beautiful rural setting yet close to the historic village of Steyning which has a bustling high street of interesting individual shops, tearooms , restaurants, pubs & cafes. Also on site is The Bakehouse were the owner Les, baker Jacqui or internationally acclaimed baker & author Emmanuel Hadjiandreou teaches artisan bread making skills. Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy the 5 acres of woods & garden the cottage is set in. There is no light pollution here so some great star gazing on a clear night. The property is gated with a coded gate. Access code given prior to arrival. Other things to note The owners keep bees so you can enjoy honey during your stay. Pleased be reassured they are away from the cottage, screen by woodland and wont bother you if you don' bother them at the hives. (Whilst the ceiling height in the cottage is 6'2 - 6'4 some beams are lower at 6'1 and 5'11 in places).
